Our Helping Hands team in Leicester are committed to delivering excellent care to the homes of adults of all ages throughout its local communities. With industry-leading training and regular monitoring & regulation via the Care Quality Commission (CQC), our carers possess the expertise and best practice to complement the natural altruism they were handpicked for. From weekly visits to around the clock assistance, we are on hand to provide the very best support for your loved one.
As well as offering bespoke and professional care across Leicester, Louisa’s team also provides care in Coalville, Loughborough, Melton and the surrounding areas.
Famous for unearthing the ancient remains of Richard III at its city cathedral, Leicester is one of the oldest cities in the country and a fascinating place to visit. Known for its mix of culture and diversity, not to mention its historic Premier League trophy, Leicester is also home to one of the country’s top home care providers – Louisa’s team of Helping Hands carers.
From as little as 30 minutes per week all the way up to full-time support, our hourly visiting carers and live-in carers in Leicester are dedicated to providing your loved one with the additional support they need to maintain an independent lifestyle within the comfort of their own home. We also match our customers with carers most suited to them and create bespoke, flexible packages that can change as their needs do.
“Hello! I’m Louisa, the Manager at Helping Hands' Leicester branch. My role is all about our customers and ensuring their needs are met. It’s important to always be there at the end of the phone. I also aim to get out and see the local carers each week. I want to build a strong, experienced, compassionate team and promote a support network for our carers. By keeping lines of communication open, I aim to ensure that carers in placement feel connected to and supported by our team at the office.”
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

Since 1989, Helping Hands has been providing industry-leading care to anyone that needs a little or a lot of extra support at home. With expertly-trained carers that are equipped to deal with a variety of different conditions and care needs, there is very little that we’re unable to handle.
From a bit of extra assistance around your house to keep it clean and tidy, to specific care for Alzheimer’s, cerebral palsy or a spinal injury, we’ll get to know you, your requirements and preferences to make sure you get the best support possible.
We also understand the importance of taking care of the whole individual rather than just taking care of their practical needs. Emotional wellbeing is just as important as being physically enabled; that’s why we’ll help you to maintain your mental health too.

Live-in care means just that: welcoming someone into your home to live with you, who will provide round-the-clock care as and when you need it. Although it can be a little daunting to have someone that you don’t know live with you, we’ll work with you to help you select a carer that matches your interests, care needs and personality. So, if you enjoy watching Leicester Tigers rugby team at the weekend or discussing the historic Battle of Bosworth, we’ll do our utmost to make sure we get the right carer for you.
With a team of clinical nurses on hand to provide expert advice and support to our Leicester team, we can also support more complex conditions such as stomas and catheters, tracheostomies and strokes.
Choosing care for yourself or a loved one is quite a daunting prospect, but when deciding on whether to opt for a fully managed provider like Helping Hands Leicester or a care agency service, there are lots of ways that we can take some of the stress and anxiety out of this process for you. Unlike an elderly care agency, we manage the entire process of your care journey – from arranging for a local manager to come and visit you in your home, to training our carers to an exceptional standard and ensuring you never have to worry if your regular carer is unavailable. We work with you to find the right support for you, instead of leaving you to manage everything from when your carer works, organising their paperwork and trying to find someone to fill in when they take a break.
Helping Hands Leicester is also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the governing body for care in England. Unlike home care agencies, we are regularly inspected by the CQC to ensure our standards remain high and that we are looking after both our customers and our carers, ensuring they have the correct training and support whilst they care for our valued customers in their homes.
Known traditionally as visiting care, domiciliary care puts you at the centre of your care and allows you or your loved ones to make the best decisions for your wellbeing. Even if you need someone to pop in three times a day to assist you with applying lotions or creams, we’ll do what’s best for you.
Domiciliary care isn’t just for the elderly; Helping Hands support hundreds of young people from the age of 18 and beyond. So regardless of your age or condition, we can always find a way to help you live the life you want to lead.
You or a loved one may have recently been diagnosed with one of the many different types of dementia, or perhaps your loved one is in the latter stages of dementia and they require constant supervision that you’re just unable to provide. As a leading dementia home care specialist, we understand how important it is to provide consistent and empathetic care to those living with dementia, and that’s exactly what Louisa’s team will do for you.
As a national member of the Dementia Action Alliance, we’re dedicated to enabling those with dementia to ‘live well’ and not ‘suffer from’ the condition. So even if you or your loved one needs daily reminders to take medication or reassurance when they forget familiar faces, we’ll be there to provide unfaltering support.
Just because you have become a little older and perhaps a little less mobile than you used to be, it doesn’t mean that you can’t remain in the home that you have lived in for years. From support with the washing up and attending appointments to more in-depth care for progressive conditions such as arthritis, Louisa’s team will craft your care plan around your requirements.
Loneliness is a term spoken about quite often in relation to the elderly, but we’re committed to making sure that this won’t be the case for you or a loved one. Louisa will meet with you to ensure you get the very best holistic care that caters for both your physical and emotional needs, whilst most importantly ensuring that you’re happy and comfortable.
Caring for another person can be extremely rewarding yet very taxing on your physical and mental health. That’s where respite care from the Leicester Helping Hands team comes in. Whether it’s a few days respite while your regular caregiver takes a well-earned break, or perhaps some support for both you and your carer while you take a holiday together; Louisa can arrange for one of her team to be there when you need them.
When planning respite care, it can be quite difficult to allow someone new to come in and provide the same level of care that you usually give to your loved one. However, Louisa and your chosen respite carer can meet with both of you before your care package starts – that way, you can rest assured that all of the small details are taken care of and everyone is happy.
Respite care can also be organised if you’re travelling to a family celebration and you need assistance throughout the day, or if you’ve had a spell in hospital and need extra care in order to be discharged home. Care can be arranged in as little as 24 hours of getting in touch with the Leicester team, so even if there’s an emergency that your carer needs to attend, we can step in relatively quickly.
Making a real difference to people’s lives is the number one reason why our carers join us. And that’s exactly why we only select the very best carers from the hundreds of applicants that we receive on a weekly basis.
Developed by our in-house, award-winning trainers, all of our carers go through a detailed training programme covering first aid, health & safety, manual handling, dementia and safeguarding. In addition to this thorough process, we also insist that each carer has a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) background check, as well as several references.
We’re also a fully-regulated service that is regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who check that we’re offering safe, effective and responsive care.
We are actively collecting and monitoring our reviews and feedback for Leicester to ensure our customers receive the best possible live in and home care service.
