Visiting care and live-in care in Mitcham

Mitcham is an Old English name that means “big settlement” as there was a Celtic stronghold with a hill fort in the area before the Romans and Saxons arrived. Mitcham is also known for its lavender and abundance of lavender fields, which was utilised to produce luxury and botanical goods for many years.

We understand doing the best you can to keep in good health at Helping hands, as we encourage our customers to remain as independent as possible when we’re supporting them at home and our visiting and live-in care services will support you expertly.

Meet the team

Alison Jones

Meet Alison Jones, our Area Care Manager, Mitcham

As an area care manager, I have operational and financial responsibility for the branches in my region. It is my role to lead and motivate my team and to ensure that the care we provide meets the national standards in terms of quality. On a day-to-day basis, my focus is to drive growth in terms of our carer and customer base. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling - generally anywhere with sun and usually have another trip planned before the last one has even ended! When I am at home, I go for long walks and love stopping off for a pub lunch.

Home care in Mitcham

When you choose visiting care you get much more than a dedicated and compassionate carer coming to your home from just 30 minutes per week, you get the benefit of our 30 years of experience and a huge operational support team to ensure you are cared for to the highest standards. Whether you have mild or complex care needs we’ll be able to support you with medication, mobility, meal preparation, personal care, housework and so much more.

Mitcham live-in care

Live-in care means you get care around the clock from your dedicated carer who will live in your home with you. This can be hugely reassuring for your loved ones as well as you, especially if they don’t live nearby. Knowing you have continual support will mean you get to live your best life possible in the home you love, while receiving the care you need.

Better than a care agency in Mitcham

We’re better than a home care agency at Helping Hands because we don’t need to do the things that agencies traditionally do to get customers, such as charging hidden fees or making carers self-employed. Our fully managed service sells itself, thanks to our dedicated carers delivering amazing results every day and our excellent operational support staff.

Domiciliary care in Mitcham

With domiciliary care, or care at home, you’ll receive the highest standards of home care in the place you love most, if you choose Helping Hands. Our dedicated carers will ensure that you are cared for exactly as you wish, thanks to your personalised support plan that accompanies both our visiting and live-in care services and your independence is our priority, as is ensuring you get to live your best life possible.

Specialist dementia care from our experts

When you’ve been diagnosed with dementia, you want to know that if you eventually need care, it’s going to be delivered by a company who are considered dementia specialists. We’ve been delivering expert dementia care for over 30 years and in that time, we’ve cared for thousands of customers living with dementia who have benefitted physically and emotionally by being able to remain in the home they love.

Respite care for immediate support

If you’re in need of short-term support, then respite care from Helping Hands is a valuable alternative to going into a residential home. When your regular carer needs to take a break, your family are going away or you’re recovering from an illness or accident, having care at home will ensure your wishes and preferences are respected, thanks to your personalised support plan and programme of care. Even in an emergency situation we can get care to you within 24 hours.

Elderly care for extra support

When you’re living with age-related frailties, you’re recovering from an illness or you just don’t have the strength you once did, it can make managing at home a lot more difficult than it used to. This is where elderly care from Helping Hands can make all the difference to your life. Our carers can come to your home and undertake all the tasks that you’re now finding difficult, such as housework, laundry, bed-making, personal care, meal preparation and medication.
