Visiting care and live-in care in Newham

Since 1989, Helping Hands have been supporting people to live comfortably and independently within their own homes and we offer two different types of home care to our customers, visiting care and live-in care.

Visiting care is a means of having support as often as you require, helping you with getting up and dressed in the morning, running errands and helping with the housework. For more intensive support, live-in care offers round-the-clock assistance for those that perhaps need a constant aid for matters of health, personal care, mobility and companionship.

Meet the team

David Lorde

Meet David Lorde, our Branch Care Manager, Newham

As the Branch Care Manager, I am looking forward to developing the Helping Hands team in Stratford, London and establishing a great working relationship with the people of East London. Soon out of university I was asked to become a care coordinator whilst working as a recruitment consultant. What I loved about social care was I felt sure of myself in this environment because the way I treat others is the way I want to be treated. I made a go of it and found that there I have adapted and developed with the social care sector. My branch is within the heart of Stratford and will be the hub for providing care & support to our customers with kindness, personalised to their individual needs. I have worked around Stratford for the past three years from 2018 to present, helping people within supported living tenancies and in a residential care home as Registered Manager. I like the services that Helping Hands delivers - and Helping Hands is a genuine company that delivers care well. I like to treat carers well so that they feel supported when they are asked to deliver care to vulnerable people in the community in their own homes. I believe that when we treat our employees well they pass this on to their vulnerable customers which is expressed with kindness and patience - the key combinations for a good carer. Helping Hands demonstrate this philosophy which is what I like. I like sport and I am a supporter of my local team Charlton Athletic as a season ticket holder. I also like working towards completing my training to becoming a qualified electrician. I like walking and I love the countryside, especially in Wales.

Visiting care in Newham

When you have home care from Helping Hands you don’t just get the support of a compassionate carer; you also get the expertise of a company who has been supporting people to remain in the home they love since 1989. We will provide a personalised care plan that is suitable for you, after gaining an understanding of your needs, preferences and routines and ensure that it is followed to the letter so that you get to live your life they way you wish. Whether you need support with personal care, household chores, medication, mobility or meal preparation, we can oblige and provide so much more too.

Live-in care in Newham to support you

If you are unhappy at the thought of going into a care home, having a live-in carer can be a cost-effective alternative. With live-in care you get the benefit of a supportive carer being with you all day and night, as well as the superb care that you’d expect from Helping Hands. Even if you have more complex care needs then we can support you fully to remain at home, as our team of clinical nurses can supervise your care and train your carer to understand your condition completely.

Better than a care agency in Newham

Helping Hands is not a home care agency; we directly employ all of our carers and staff to ensure the highest possible motivation and job satisfaction. Not being an agency means you also don’t have to pay us referral fees and other costs that agencies often demand, so you get better value care as a result. We offer a fully regulated and accredited service that you’d struggle to find with a home care agency, so contact us today to discover more.

Dementia care tailored to you

When you or your loved one is living with dementia and the time comes to talk about care, you need to be sure that you are supported by a company with over 30 years’ experience. Staying in the home you love close to loved ones and precious memories can help to reduce confusion and anxiety, so receiving dementia care at home is a positive alternative to moving into a care home.

Respite care

Respite care traditionally conjures up images of having to go into residential care but that’s never been the case with Helping Hands; we come to you and provide all the care you need in the comfort of your own home. Sometimes care can be needed in a hurry, for instance if your regular carer is taken ill and has to go home to recover, so in an emergency it’s best to turn to a company who really are industry leaders.

Elderly care for extra support

As we age, we all find that tasks take a little longer than they used to, so if you’re struggling with the day to day necessities our friendly and helpful carers can make a huge difference. They’ll happily help you with anything in your home such as personal care, laundry and housework, or even outside of it with light gardening and accompanying you to activities and appointments. If you’d like to discover more about how our carers could be providing elderly care, contact us today.

Fully-trained carers in Newham

Everyone who works for Helping Hands shares the same ethos, which is to provide the highest standards of care possible to people in their own homes, while maintaining their dignity and independence. Not everyone gets to be a Helping Hands carer; we only select the most compassionate and empathetic people to look after our customers and we train them thoroughly to ensure they are prepared for every eventually. Our carers are all Disclosure and Barring Service screened before they meet their customers and we are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission, meaning you can have the highest levels of confidence in us to provide superlative care.
