The place-name Pudsey is first recorded in 1086 in the Domesday Book as Podechesai(e) and around 1775, a cache of a hundred silver Roman coins, many predating the time of Julius Caesar, was found on Pudsey Common.
While we can’t claim a history as long as Pudsey, we do have over 30 years to our name, as we were established in 1989. Since then we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure that our customers have the best care possible in their own homes, thanks to our visiting and live-in care services.
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

Fully flexible care packages as your needs change
Flexible care provided in your own home with a fully qualified carer. Visits start from as little as 30 minutes up to several hourly or overnight calls throughout the week.
One-to-one support from a fully qualified care that lives with you. Full-time support so you can stay at home where you feel most comfortable.
Visiting care is exactly as it sounds; our compassionate carers come to you in your own home for as long or as little as you need them, starting from just 30 minutes per week. You may need someone to accompany you to walk your dog, go to the shops, help you in and out of the shower or with other personal care, prepare meals, support you with your medication or mobility and so much more, helping you to live your best life in the home you love.
If you’re struggling at home and don’t like being on your own, then live-in care may be just what you need. Whether you need support with household tasks, personal care or getting out into the community, our carers can help with that and so much more. Our carers are very discreet though and will know when you’d prefer a bit of time to relax or with family and friends, so you’ll never feel as if your home isn’t your own anymore.
We’ve never been a home care agency as we care about our carers and customers too much to offer anything but the very highest standards of support and supervision. You’d only get guarantees like that from a private home care company established for over 30 years, such as Helping Hands. We employ our carers directly, ensuring they’re motivated and passionate about caring for our customers, so you’ll always live your best life in the home you love.
With domiciliary care, or care at home, your independence is always promoted, and we have a constant focus on your wellbeing. Our dedicated, professional care specialists can help you with every aspect of your care needs, such as medication, mobility, household tasks and personal care, but because of our flexible packages and personalised support plan, you’re always in control. This means your preferences and routines will always be respected, regardless of you care needs.
When you’ve been diagnosed with dementia things can seem very unsettled, therefore it’s important to have conversations about care with your loved ones for when the time comes that you may need it. Remaining in your own home for dementia care can be very beneficial both physically and emotionally, as being in familiar surroundings can help reduce anxiety and confusion too.
When regular carers need to take a well-earned break, you may be worrying about who will support you, but with respite care in your own home you can rely on us to undertake all of your care needs. Whether it’s following an operation or illness or to give your loved ones some time away from the demanding duties of being a full-time carer, we can support your routines at all times, and even in an emergency we can usually get care to you within 24 hours.
With elderly care from Helping Hands you can get all the extra support you need to ensure that you can remain living in the home you love, while still maintaining the high standards that you always have done. Whether you’d appreciate support with personal care, laundry, housework, meal preparation or much more, our compassionate carers can help you to enjoy your home and continue to remain in it for as long as you wish.
Our carers go above and beyond on a daily basis to look after our customers, ensuring they are supported fully to live the life they want at home. That’s why we train our carers thoroughly and keep their skills levels high through continuous development opportunities so that they can apply what they’ve learnt to their customers’ care straight away. We’re fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission so you can be fully confident in our excellent standards of service.
