Visiting care and home care in Rhondda
With evidence of man’s presence since at least the Mesolithic period and a hoard of late Bronze Age weapons found in 1912, the Rhondda area has been inhabited for thousands of years. In more recent times, the area has been synonymous with coal mining, and by 1893, there were more than 75 collieries in the Rhondda Valleys. Despite the decline in demand for coal, other industries were able to establish themselves in the area and the history of Rhondda’s industrial past is celebrated in a museum in one of the local former colliery sites. While our heritage is not as long or colourful as Rhondda’s, at Helping Hands we do have an established history of providing outstanding home care for people in the area, with branches across the country that are all fully regulated by the Care Inspectorate Wales.
