Romford dementia support from Helping Hands

With over half of our customers living with dementia and over 30 years in dementia care services, here at Helping Hands, we are considered to be industry leaders in the field of dementia care. The term ‘dementia’ is an umbrella word for an array of health conditions that affect the memory and the functioning of the brain. It is especially prevalent in the older generations, and, as the population grows older, it is also becoming increasingly common.

Dementia is a progressive illness that can seriously affect people’s lives as it develops. For those who are living with dementia, this means that some everyday tasks can become more and more challenging over time, often resulting in the need for some extra support. Here at Helping Hands, we have used our extensive experience in the dementia field to be able to provide effective, high-quality dementia care through our home care services, helping our customers to stay safe, comfortable, and as healthy and independent as possible, for as long as possible.

We have a person-centred approach to care, meaning that every customer is dealt with as an individual, with our fantastic care team in Romford providing the service that you need when you need it. They are flexible, friendly, and well-informed, and ready and waiting to lend you a helping hand.

Why choose dementia home care?

It is important for people who are living with dementia to have stability and routine and to be in an environment that is familiar to them. Going into residential care can be daunting and disruptive, and this is why home care is a good option if you or your loved one is living with dementia.

With the home care services that we provide, you or your loved one can continue to stay living in the comfort, security, and familiarity of their own homes, with a professional, friendly carer available to assist with anything from running errands and light housework, to clinical nursing care.

All of our dementia carers in Romford have passed a DBS check and initial training program before they can start to work for us. We also provide them with continued training and 24-hour telephone support whenever they need it. Here at Helping Hands, we don’t use agency care staff, meaning that we are confident that we are supplying amongst the best care staff out there.

Dementia care services tailored to you

Here at Helping Hands, we provide home care services to suit your unique situation. Our visiting care team is available to visit your home according to your needs – from as little as a few half an hour visits each week, to several longer visits each day.

If you prefer, our live-in carers are available to provide full-time support, living at your home, having been specially chosen to have personalities and interests that match yours. We can also provide nursing care from our registered nurses, and respite care to enable regular carers to take some time off.

Our person-centred philosophy means that we can tailor the support that we provide according to your own needs and requirements, as well as incorporating preferences, likes, and dislikes. Some of the duties that our Romford dementia care team can carry out include:

Qualified dementia carers in Romford

Here at Helping Hands, we look to ensure that we are providing the highest quality dementia care for our customers at all times. This is why we are founder members of the self-regulating UKHCA (United Kingdom Home Care Association) – an organisation that looks to ensure that high levels of home care are being provided in the UK. We are also regulated by the CQC (Care Quality Commission) – a body related to the Department of Health and Social Care that inspects and regulates care services in England.

We are committed to providing excellent dementia support and in addition to our own experience in the field, we also work closely with leading dementia organisations such as the Dementia Action Alliance and Dementia UK. This enables us to stay up-to-date with developments in the world of dementia as well as contribute to understanding through our own observations.

We are also proud to have been accredited an ‘excellent’ rating on Trustpilot – rated by our customers and also care staff.
