‘Snoddingland’ existed well before the Domesday Book of 1031, when it was referred to as ‘Esnoiland’, appearing in a charter of 838 which saw King Egbert of Wessex give “four ploughlands in the place called Snoddingland and Holanbeorge” (Holborough) to Beornmod, the Bishop of Rochester. Having a rich heritage to our name is something we are very proud of at Helping Hands, and while we can’t compete with hundreds of years of history yet, we are proud of our more than 30 years in the home care industry so far. We offer a visiting care service from just 30 minutes a week right up to full-time, live-in care, so whatever you needs, we can design the perfect package of care for you.
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

Home care is great way to stay in the home you love while getting the care you need. With visits starting from just 30 minutes per week, our amazing carers can help with personal care, medication support, housework, meal preparation and so much more. If you’d like to go out into the community then we can help with that too, whether it’s attending appointments and activities you enjoy or going for a shopping trip or day out.
If the thought of having to leave your home upsets you but you need full-time care, talk to us about live-in care as it may just be the answer you’ve been looking for. Our amazing carers can live in our customers homes with them, offering support with everything from personal care to laundry, and with your personalised support plan accompanying your bespoke package of care, we take care of everything. We also promote your independence at every opportunity to ensure you’re living your best life at home.
Home care agencies traditionally don’t employ their carers directly, preferring instead for them to manage their own employment or even make the customers do it for them. We feel this isn’t the way to get the best out of either parts of the relationship so we ensure our carers are looked after, so that they can just focus on the most important thing – your care. Thanks to our personalised support plans that support your bespoke package of care you’ll get to live your best life in the home you love.
Domiciliary care is otherwise known as care at home, and that’s what we’ve been specialising in for the last 30 years. We’ve supported thousands of customers to live their best, most independent lives possible in the comfortable surroundings of the home they love, so why not trust us to do the same for you or your loved ones? Our visiting and live-in care services can be designed to your specific requirements, so enjoy life to the fullest with care at home from Helping Hands.
Receiving a diagnosis of dementia can feel like the worst thing in the world at first, however it’s possible to live perfectly well with dementia providing you are cared for by a company who understand it and carers who are specialists. Our carers will be able to support you for short or longer-term respite care, regardless of the circumstances. Your regular carer may be taking a scheduled break or perhaps they’ve been taken ill, and your family are not able to step in temporarily. Whatever the reason, we’ve supported thousands of customers with their respite needs and will ensure you have the support you require at home even in an emergency, when we’ll get a carer to you within 24 hours.
If you’re finding certain aspects of your daily routine becoming more difficult to undertake recently, whether due to age-related frailties or another condition, you may appreciate some elderly care from Helping Hands. Our friendly carers will be able to come to your home and support you with every aspect of your daily routine such as vacuuming, preparing meals and helping you to shower, to enable you to live your best life possible in the place you love.
We think our carers are amazing, as they work tirelessly every day of the year to keep our customers supported and as independent as possible in the homes they love. We value our customers so much too and that’s why we ensure proper safety measures are in place, such as screening all carers through the Disclosure and Barring Service for your safeguarding. We also train our carers thoroughly to make sure that they can bring all their skills to caring for you at home and because our service is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, you can be sure we’re the home care experts.
