At Helping Hands we’ve been supporting people to live comfortably and safely in their own homes for over 30 years, so we really are the home care experts. We can support you in and around Stanley, The Grove, Stanley Ferry, Lee Moor, Lane Ends, Newton Hill, Outwood, Bottom Boat, Lofthouse Gates, East Ardsley, Wrenthorpe, and the surrounding areas.
Stanley in West Yorkshire is home to the Stanley Marsh nature reserve which is situated on the site of a former colliery. Like much of the surrounding areas, Stanley’s main output was coal mining and it also has the distinction of containing the world’s first public railway, which commenced at nearby Lake Lock in 1798, used to haul coal and other goods to the canal network for distribution.
We’re familiar with expansion and great thinking at Helping Hands, as we have gone from one local branch in 1989 to well over 100 today. Our visiting and live-in care services are exceptional and will support you to live your best life possible in the home you love.
"I am passionate about coaching and developing people to achieve their career goals and aspirations, motivating them to deliver an outstanding level of service to our customers, colleagues and carers. What gets me out of bed in the morning is knowing that today could be the day that I make a real difference to someone. To relax when not working I love nothing more than spending time with family and long walks along the Northumberland coast with my three crazy dogs."

Getting older and needing extra support doesn’t have to mean that you can’t stay in the home you love any more. As we get older, we can become a little frailer, especially if living with joint pain, arthritis or the after-effects of an accident or fall. Just because tasks take longer doesn’t mean you should struggle on at home, as you could be having elderly care for support with vacuuming, preparing meals, personal care, housework and so much more.
You can have the highest levels of confidence in our superb standards of expert service because of our amazing carers. Every day of the year they go above and beyond to ensure that their customers are living the highest quality life they possibly can, while remaining in the home they love. We only choose the best to become Helping Hands carers and they have to have natural compassion and empathy, as that’s something that we just can’t train them to have. We’re also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you know we’re the ones to trust.
