Visiting care and live-in care in Stanley

Stanley in West Yorkshire is home to the Stanley Marsh nature reserve which is situated on the site of a former colliery. Like much of the surrounding areas, Stanley’s main output was coal mining and it also has the distinction of containing the world’s first public railway, which commenced at nearby Lake Lock in 1798, used to haul coal and other goods to the canal network for distribution.

We’re familiar with expansion and great thinking at Helping Hands, as we have gone from one local branch in 1989 to well over 100 today. Our visiting and live-in care services are exceptional and will support you to live your best life possible in the home you love.

Meet the team

Leigh Jepson

Meet Leigh Jepson, our Area Care Manager, North

"I am passionate about coaching and developing people to achieve their career goals and aspirations, motivating them to deliver an outstanding level of service to our customers, colleagues and carers. What gets me out of bed in the morning is knowing that today could be the day that I make a real difference to someone. To relax when not working I love nothing more than spending time with family and long walks along the Northumberland coast with my three crazy dogs."

Better than a care agency in Stanley

Because we’re not a home care agency you will never see us asking for referral, matching or introductory fees, as that is all part of the bespoke service at Helping Hands. We take it as part of our service to you to ensure we find you the carer who best complements your home and your lifestyle, and because we employ all of our carers directly there is also no need for them to be worrying about the details of self-employment when they should be focussing on your care.

Expert domiciliary care

Because we are an expert domiciliary care company with over 30 years of experience in the industry, we are confident to be able to say to you that you won’t find better care than us across England and Wales. You’re always in control with our flexible packages of bespoke care and thanks to your personalised support plan, your dedicated specialist carer will have an in-depth knowledge of your condition and your needs.

Dementia care from our experienced carers

Remaining in the home you love when you’re living with dementia can help to reduce confusion and anxiety in some cases as the familiar surroundings, close to loved ones and precious memories, can be beneficial to both your physical and emotional wellbeing. As your condition progresses you’ll want to be in the place you love most and our compassionate carers will be able to support you at home with every aspect of your dementia care; additionally, thanks to your personalised support plan, your routines and preferences will be always respected and you’ll live the best life you can.

Respite care for short-term support

With respite care at home you get the short-term help that you need without having to relocate to residential care. Whether you need temporary support due to an accident or illness, your family taking a holiday or your regular carer needing a break, we can support you with every aspect of your daily life. Thanks to your personalised support plan that accompanies your bespoke care, your routines will always be followed, and even in an emergency we can get care to you within 24 hours.

Support at home with elderly care

Getting older and needing extra support doesn’t have to mean that you can’t stay in the home you love any more. As we get older, we can become a little frailer, especially if living with joint pain, arthritis or the after-effects of an accident or fall. Just because tasks take longer doesn’t mean you should struggle on at home, as you could be having elderly care for support with vacuuming, preparing meals, personal care, housework and so much more.

Fully trained carers in Stanley

You can have the highest levels of confidence in our superb standards of expert service because of our amazing carers. Every day of the year they go above and beyond to ensure that their customers are living the highest quality life they possibly can, while remaining in the home they love. We only choose the best to become Helping Hands carers and they have to have natural compassion and empathy, as that’s something that we just can’t train them to have. We’re also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you know we’re the ones to trust.
