When should I choose respite care, and what can a carer help with?

Respite care is short-term care when you unexpectedly find yourself in need of additional support at home. It isn’t always possible to anticipate when you might require extra help – perhaps your regular carer is unavailable, or you’ve been discharged from hospital earlier than you expected. Whatever your reason for needing respite care, our Swindon home care team will normally be able to provide you with one of our carers in 24 hours, allowing you to focus your time and energy on doing the things you enjoy with friends and family.

Why you may need Swindon respite care

From preparing meals to doing the laundry, to providing mobility support and continence care, our fantastic carers will be able to help around your home in whatever way you require. This means you won’t need to worry about being left isolated or unsupported in your hour of need so can be discharged from hospital more quickly, back to the familiarity and comfort of your own home, your loved ones, and your pets. It will also take pressure off your family who may have been providing additional help for you for some time.

The benefits of respite care at home

Respite care at home has so many benefits for both physical and emotional wellbeing. This is because many people think their only option after being in hospital or after an illness is to go into temporary respite care elsewhere, but that’s not the case. People can find themselves becoming despondent after being away from their beloved home for too long, but with home care in Swindon it doesn’t have to be that way. We’ve delivered exceptional care in our customers’ homes since 1989, helping people across England and Wales to remain independent for as long as they need us.
