At Helping Hands, we’ve been providing loving, dedicated care to customers across England and Wales for over 30 years. In this time, we’ve learned a lot about what it takes to provide truly exceptional home care that goes above and beyond in giving our customers independence, confidence and comfort in the home they cherish, surrounded by the people they love.
Our Upminster home care team are also able to support you in nearby locations including Hornchurch, North Ockendon, South Ockendon, West Horndon, Bulphan, Aveley, Rainham and more.
Now a suburban town in East London, Upminster was historically a rural village whose name was formed from the Old English words upp and mynster, meaning ‘the large church on high ground’.
With care plans ranging from just 30 minutes a week all the way up to round-the-clock live-in care, our Helping Hands Upminster team are able to provide you with a personalised package of care that will allow you to remain in the home you love and enjoy the beautiful surroundings that Upminster has to offer.
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

Fully flexible care packages as your needs change
Flexible care provided in your own home with a fully qualified carer. Visits start from as little as 30 minutes up to several hourly or overnight calls throughout the week.

With live-in care from Helping Hands, you’ll get the opportunity to have one of our brilliant, compassionate carers live in your home and provide you with round-the-clock support. If your current care plan is no longer giving you the level of assistance that you require, live-in care is an excellent way to ensure you’re able to remain in the home you love while receiving all the extra help that you need. You’ll have your own personal carer who will provide you with one-to-one support and companionship, ensuring you’re never left unsupported or isolated. Our carers are all expertly trained to assist you as little or as much as you require, from personal care and doing the vacuuming to preparing meals and helping you get down to the shops or go to church.
We’re better than a care agency because we take steps to ensure our carers are properly looked, allowing them to focus their time and energy towards providing our customers with exceptional care. Unlike most agencies, we employ our carers directly, giving them job security and also ensuring our customers won’t be burdened with heaps of time-consuming paperwork. Agencies will often insist that you personally pay your carers, leaving you to deal with lots of fiddly financial admin and hidden fees.
There may be occasions when you or a loved one unexpectedly find yourself needing additional support. With emergency care from your Helping Hands care team in Upminster, we can provide you with one of our empathetic carers at the times when you most need help – typically within 24 hours of your call. It might be that your condition has suddenly worsened, or you’re receiving treatment that leaves you unable to perform certain routines and tasks. Our emergency carers will always be more than happy to help out in any way you require, including live-in care if necessary.
When you use a private care provider for live-in care, you’ll receive a bespoke, personalised care plan that focuses on your needs and wishes. Private care Helping Hands gives you control over the package of care that you receive, allowing you to make decisions regarding meals, visiting hours, bed times, and so much more. You’ll be able to let us know what you like and dislike in a carer, allowing us to find you someone who is matched to your personality and interests.
Experiencing falls or increased frailty can often negatively impact your confidence. Having a overnight carer will mean that there’s someone in your home all through the night who is trained to provide assistance to you as and when you may need it. It might be that you require a bit of support getting to the loo in the middle of the night, or you’re worried that you might have a fall with no-one around to help you until the morning. Having a live-in carer can provide you with peace of mind that there’ll always be someone on hand to help.
When you have a live-in carer from Helping Hands, you can be fully assured that you’ll have a compassionate, expert carer come to live with you. We’re very proud of our carers, who have all been carefully recruited for their kindness, knowledge and dedication to excellence. We provide all care staff with exceptional training and support, ensuring they’re equipped to give you the very best care possible. This includes participation in our award-winning training programme, plus regular refresher courses to keep them up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices.
