What’s included with care at Helping Hands?

At Helping Hands, our specialty is to find creative ways to offer the unique and personalized support we know our customers deserve. We pride ourselves on our flexibility. We offer two broad options, live-in care for more comprehensive support, and visiting care, where a care worker comes to your home on a suitable schedule, starting from just 30 minute visits per week.

During this time, our carers are happy to do what they can to help you or your loved one live the life they want to live, in the place they love best: their homes. From housework to meal prep, shopping,  errands, help with mobility and prescriptions, grooming and dressing, and pet care, we can be there to give you the support you need, when you need it.

Respite care

You may not need ongoing support, but benefit from knowing that there is always someone at hand should an emergency arise or should you, as a carer, fall ill and be unable to carry out the daily routines as normal. Respite care is perfect for intermediate support on an ad hoc basis. We can send a fully trained and friendly carer to ease your worries. This means that your loved one is always in good hands, even when you can’t be there.

Respite carers can start at several days or a few weeks if a little extra TLC is needed after a hospital procedure or accident like a fall. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, but we want you to have the peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved one is getting what they need, no matter what.

Elderly care

It can be overwhelming to make the decision to seek out care either for yourself or someone else. Many seniors are hesitant about receiving elderly care since, barring a few practical difficulties, they love their lives and want to carry on with minimal disruption to their independence and familiar routines and habits. Our carers understand this, and work around your limitations, preferences and unique personality. We are all different, and it follows that we all need care that is as unique as we are. Whether you need someone to come daily to help with exercise and mobility, or simply a weekly visit to catch up on the laundry and fetch a prescription, we’re here to help.

Dementia care

Living with the many varied symptoms of dementia can take extra consideration and care. Our staff are all properly trained and experienced in this area, and can bring enormous amounts of kindness, patience and common-sense to the everyday business of life. We know that moving to a residential care facility can be quite distressing for those with memory impairments, but with a dedicated dementia carer, your loved one receives all the care they need and undivided attention from a single familiar person. The added sense of continuity and stability can make a huge difference in quality of life.

Why Helping Hands is the leading Wandsworth Care Agency

Today there are several options for home care in Wandsworth, but understandably, it’s worth taking the time to choose a carer you like and trust. We always take care to match our customers with the carer we know will suit them best in terms of background, values and personality. For us, home care is about genuinely getting to know one another and slotting in as part of the family. We believe it’s this philosophy that sets us apart from conventional home care in the UK.
