Home care in Cleveland
Visiting care and home care in Cleveland
Cleveland is an area of hills and dales stretching from Vale of Pickering to the River Tees. Translated from Old English, the name literally means “land of cliffs” – a reference to the picturesque hills in the area.
At Helping Hands, we’re able to offer care to anyone living in Cleveland who is experiencing ups and downs of their own. Our carers provide a wide range of care services which are suitable for people with varying needs. Our visiting care is fully flexible to your needs, with visits starting from as little as 30 minutes per week. We also offer live-in care, which gives you a more comprehensive, round-the-clock package of care – ideal for those living with a complex condition. All of our services are independently regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Branch Care Manager
As Branch Manager it is my responsibility to ensure the safe and effective day to day management of the branch, providing guidance and support to all branch staff, carers and customers. Within my role I aim to ensure compliance and quality for staff and customers is met in line with CQC standards and legislative requirements. I joined the care industry when my children became independent as I wanted to make a difference to people's lives and enable them to live independently and safely at home. I quickly built up professional relationships in the care sector and enjoyed the role of carer, this then inspired me to climb the career ladder, eventually taking the role of Branch Manager. I am proud to work for Helping Hands as it is a very family-orientated company with high values, plus the training and support is outstanding. I feel my team of carers are compassionate about their role and I am able to guide them along their journey. If I come across any obstacles then I will gain support to enable us to work together as a team. I have been married for 35 years and have 3 children, who have now provided us with 6 grandchildren. I enjoy rugby and support Saint Helens rugby league, and I like to attend the games when I am able to. I also enjoy holidays abroad and spending time with our friends at weekends.

Other care we provide
High quality home care in Cleveland
At Helping Hands Cleveland, we’re extremely proud to be able to offer first-rate home care services day in, day out. From your very first phone call to our friendly customer support team, every aspect of your support will centre around your personal needs, wishes and preferences. We can help you get to bed and get up at the times you wish, enjoy your favourite meals, host or visit loved ones whenever you like, keep up your favourite hobbies, and so much more. All of our carers are trained to support those living with complex conditions, such as types of dementia and advanced cancer, and can assist around the home with just about anything – including toileting, bathing, getting dressed, cleaning, laundry, mobility, and so much more.
24/7 live in care support
With live-in care, you’ll receive round-the-clock assistance from one of our expertly-trained carers who will come to live with you in your home and proactively support you to maintain your preferred lifestyle, routines and hobbies. Live-in care is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to residential care, as it allows the individual to remain in the comfortable, familiar surroundings of their own home and experience expert care on a one-to-one basis – without the stress of having to move. You’ll be able to see loved ones as and when you wish, and your live-in carer can even accompany you on days out in your community or to see loved ones.
Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in Cleveland
Helping Hands aren’t a care agency, and we never use agency staff. Rather, as a private care provider, we employ all of our carers directly, which means we pay their wages, provide them with a pension and give them all the reassurances that they need in order to be able to prioritise your well-being. You won’t need to worry about paying your carer or arranging cover in case your regular carer needs a break, and you’ll never have any unexpected costs or hidden fees in your care.
Qualified carers providing a variety of care services in Cleveland
We’re extremely proud of our exceptional carers; they truly are our most valuable asset, and constantly go above and beyond to ensure every customer receives the exceptional support they’ve come to expect from Helping Hands. We’re very particular about who we recruit to our Cleveland care team – we only hire carers who possess a naturally kind and compassionate personality, and who share our company-wide family values. Every new carer must undergo numerous background checks before starting with us, so that we can be certain they’ll be a perfect fit for us and for you. They’ll enrol on our industry-leading carer training, where they undertake modules such as dementia care, moving and handling and mobility support, and will continue to participate in regular refresher courses to keep their knowledge and skillset up to date.
