Choosing Helping Hands for live in care in Coventry

Since our inception in 1989 at our founder, Mary Lee’s kitchen table, we’ve been going above and beyond to provide care across Warwickshire and the rest of England and Wales. Designed to complement your existing lifestyle, home care in Coventry is very much a way of enabling you to live the life you choose to lead instead of us doing everything for you.

Regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and led by our experienced branch manager in Coventry, our carers will get to know you and how you like your care routine to be. So, whether you have dementia and need regular visiting care to check that you’re safe and well, or if you’re living with a neurological condition and require a carer to provide round-the-clock live-in care – we’ll create the right package of care centred around you.

What’s provided in Helping Hand's care packages?

From support with shopping and errands, to assistance getting in and out of bed and washed and dressed – there’s a variety of different elements that’s included with our care offer. You can choose the number of visits you have per week and what those visits are for. One week, you may need assistance getting to the hairdressers and visiting your GP, whereas the next week you may just want your carer to do some light housework and prepare meals. Care is all about maintaining the individual’s independence as much as possible, whether they have a complex health condition, are elderly, or need support with their mental health.

Do you need care?

Home care needs may arise gradually over time or suddenly during a crisis point. We understand that choosing to accept that you need care can be quite difficult to come to terms with, but our Coventry team will be there to provide the support and reassurance that you and your loved ones need when deciding on the right type of care for you.

Home care for short periods

Many of our local customers start with a couple of hours of visiting care a week so that they get used to our team of carers and settle into a rhythm of having someone support them with their daily activities. After time, you may realise that you need additional support each week or day to help with personal care, mobility, and household duties. You may also decide that you’d like extra overnight support if you become anxious through the night or need support taking medication. Whenever you want to change your hours, we can arrange for this to take place with exactly the same level of high-quality care that you’ve been receiving.

Long-term intermittent visits

For those who have elderly relatives that they look after on a regular basis or if you permanently care for a loved one – it’s really important to take a break from carer duties from time to time. While you rest and recharge your batteries, we can provide bespoke respite care from as little as three days up to a period of several weeks. That way, you can all get a little space and down time whilst your loved one still receives care in the comfort of their own home.

Short notice carers available

For situations where care needs suddenly arise, emergency care from the Coventry team means that we can arrange for care to be in place as soon as the same day as your enquiry. Whether you’ve just been discharged from hospital or if your regular carer is ill, we can swiftly step in and ensure you’re not left without the vital care that you need.
