We’ve always prided ourselves on supporting our customers to live their best lives in their own homes as independently as possible with home care. Because we’re fully regulated by the CQC and CIW we offer a service you can have the highest levels of confidence in, and with our compassionate and empathetic carers going above and beyond for our customers every day, you should talk to us today about how we could be supporting you or your loved ones.
We can support you in and around Dewsbury, Flushdyke, Ossett, Thornhill Edge, Thornhill Lees, Ravensthorpe, Mirfield, Heckmondwicke, Chidswell, and the surrounding areas.
Dewsbury has a long and interesting history, having been influenced heavily by industrialisation and the arrival of the canal network. It became a centre for Chartist agitation and saw its population rise from 4,566 in 1801 to around 30,000 by 1890.
At Helping Hands, we’ve seen large scale growth since 1989 and have gone from one branch to well over 100, and our live-in and visiting care services support our customers to live their best lives possible in the home they love.
"Hello, I'm Bethany and as the manager for the Leeds branch I am responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of our service. I ensure that all care packages are covered, all carers feel confident through regular training and one-to-ones and that we are compliant with the CQC.
"I am originally from a mining town in the North East and then I moved to North Yorkshire in 2014.
"I joined Helping Hands in 2016 with the York branch and have held various roles within my time here. Originally, I started as full time carer whilst studying at university. I then returned from maternity leave and began my role as field care supervisor. I was then promoted to care coordinator, which I did for almost two years and thoroughly enjoyed, before being successful as branch manager for Leeds."
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

That means they are always highly motivated to support our customers expertly, which is why we’re better than an agency. It’s not just our carers who benefit though; our customers get the benefit of happy and valued carers and also the superlative operational support that only comes from a private company.
We’ve been the homecare specialists since we were founded in 1989 and even though we’ve now grown to offer support across England and Wales, we haven’t lost sight of our original ethos, which is to offer the highest possible standards of care to our customers, enabling them to live their best quality of life within the home they love. Your domiciliary care is always tailored around you and your routines, so you’re always kept at the centre of your own care journey.
You may not need professional dementia care right away after a diagnosis, however it’s a good idea to talk to loved ones as soon as possible about your preferences for your eventual care, as if the time comes that you do require it, your wishes will then be known and acted upon. You may need respite care for several reasons – your regular carer may need to take a break, your loved ones may be going on holiday, or perhaps you’re recovering from an accident or illness. Our expert carers will support your routines and preferences thanks to your personalised support plan which will ensure all your needs are met.
