What is community care?

At Helping Hands, we’ve been providing specialist, life-changing home care services to customers up and down the nation for over 30 years. In that time, we’ve helped tens of thousands of people to live more independently, comfortably and confidently in the homes that they love, surrounded by friends and family.

One of the care services in which we specialise is community care, which gives you the opportunity to have one of our wonderful carers come to your home and provide you with personable, dedicated one-to-one support that allows you to spend more time doing the things you enjoy with family and friends. Our carers are fully trained to help you out in any way you might need – from preparing meals and doing the laundry, to providing continence care and mobility support.

Who is community care for?

Community care is flexible, personalised care that is completely tailored around your specific needs and preferences – which means it could be for almost anyone! With community care from Helping Hands, we’ll take the time to understand your condition and circumstances so that we can design a care plan for you that fully supports you and offers you great value for money. It might be that you simply need a few hours of visiting care per week to help you manage from day to day, or perhaps you’d benefit from live in care in Maidstone for round-the-clock support. Our community carers are even able to help you get out of the house to see loved ones or go away on holiday – the possibilities are almost endless!

Care in the Maidstone community from Helping Hands

With community care from Helping Hands, you’ll be supported by our wonderful home care in Maidstone team who have all been selectively recruited for their compassionate, dedicated approach to their care provision. We know that our care service is only as good as our carers, which is why we’re extremely particular about who we recruit to our care teams – we only hire people who possess naturally empathetic personalities, and we subject all candidates to rigorous background checks.

When they start with us, every new carer receives our award-winning training, which includes modules such as equality and diversity, first aid, administering medication, health and safety and much more. And, for your full peace of mind, all of our care services are independently regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you know you’re only ever going to get the very highest standards of care from our carers.
