Area Care Manager
My role as Area Care Manager is to oversee the Central region, ensuring that new branches are set up safely and are providing a quality service to customers, and ensuring that branch care managers feel supported in their roles to do this. I started in care 20+ years ago as a care worker whilst studying at university. This was to gain experience in a customer-facing role and because I have a passion for caring for people with various disabilities. After finishing university, I continued in the care sector as I enjoyed supporting people to live their way in their own home. I worked my way up to a care coordinator, registered care manager and then managing multiple sites as a director of services. I took on the role at Helping Hands as head of care as their values align with me, the main one being KINDNESS. At Helping Hands, we believe in providing a quality, safe and effective service to our customers and recruiting the best talent to enable us to do this. Just like the customer, we value our staff by being flexible for them and providing them with extensive training to do their role and progress within the organisation; as head of care, this makes me proud to work here! I champion dignity in care and believe that everyone should be treated with dignity - this is a basic human right and not an added extra.

Other care we provide
High quality home care in South Yorkshire
At Helping Hands, we’re able to offer a wide range of care services that can be tailored to your particular condition and circumstances. We know that when it comes to home care, no two people have identical needs. That’s why our South Yorkshire team will always offer you a flexible, bespoke package of care that empowers you to live your best life by providing you with support in the areas you most need it – whether you need a few weekly home visits to help with the housework, or round-the-clock assistance from a live-in carer.
24/7 live in care support
Live-in care is a type of care that offers you the opportunity to have one of our wonderful carers come to live with you in your home and offer round-the-clock support and companionship. An increasingly popular to moving into a residential care home, live-in care allows you to continue living life on your own terms and at your own pace without having to forfeit your favourite hobbies, routines and ways of doing things. We firmly believe that remaining at home, where possible, is always the best option when it comes to care, because that’s where you’re the most comfortable and relaxed. This is particularly relevant for those living with a type of dementia, where being at ease with your surroundings and having a stress-free environment can be particularly important.
Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in South Yorkshire
As a private care provider, Helping Hands differ from most care agencies in that we directly employ all of our carers, and offer a fully managed care service. Because all of our carers are our employees, you can have full confidence that the people looking after you are also being properly looked after, and have been properly vetted and trained. You won’t need to worry about handling fiddly admin and making payments to your carers, as we handle that aspect of your care – allowing you to focus on your own wellbeing, and spending your time the way you wish to.
Qualified carers providing a variety of care services in South Yorkshire
Our South Yorkshire carers truly are exceptional people who are brilliant at what they do. We have a stringent recruitment and vetting process whereby we only ever hire people who are naturally kind and empathetic, and who share our passion for helping people. We know that it takes a really special kind of person to be a carer, and we want every Helping Hands customer to have total confidence that the person looking after them will be a perfect match for them. All of our carers receive our comprehensive carer training when they start with us, which is then built up with regular refresher courses.
