Our home care Stoke team are dedicated to providing person-centre care to those across the city, with empathy, compassion and dignity. Regulated by the industry’s governing body, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we also have high standards of care that we always uphold, making us stand out from the rest and being a care provider of choice for thousands of families since our inception in 1989.
Whether you need help little and often or 24-hour live-in care for constant support, the Stoke team will get to know you so that we can provide the right level of care for you that’s flexible and adaptable when you need it to be.
From support around the home with vacuuming, washing up, laundry and dusting, to accompanying you to appointments, collecting your groceries and running errands – we cover anything that you may find difficult to do around your home that you might need a little support with. Furthermore, our carers will support you with washing, bathing, getting dressed and safely moving around your home if you have trouble doing so, with a special focus on taking the lead from you. That way, we enable you to live independently, rather than take over and do everything for you.
Home care isn’t just about the practical tasks; it’s about supporting you emotionally too. It’s really important for your wellbeing that you feel happy and cared for, which is why we’ll take the time to find out what your hobbies and aspirations are and help you to fulfil them – whether it’s a trip to Stoke City to watch The Potters for the afternoon or planting border flowers in your garden in the spring.
For some, care is a short term solution whilst on holiday or if their regular caregiver is unavailable. But for others, home care is necessary to continue to stay living in the comfort and familiarity of your home with a partner or pets. It allows you to retain your independence instead of having to moving into a nursing home, giving you the choice of what you do each day, how you do it and when you do it. Whether you have Alzheimer’s and need round-the-clock support to remain living safely at home, or if you need assistance getting to and whilst being at work, we can create a support plan that adheres directly to your needs.
For shorter visits throughout the day to assist you with the housework or getting to and from the shops, visiting care is ideal for flexible support on an hourly basis. Many of our customers begin with a few hours a week to help with keeping their home clean and tidy, and then sometimes progress on to care visits more regularly throughout the day to help with getting dressed in the morning or washing their hair if they struggle to reach. We also have overnight care for those that become particularly anxious during the early hours, with constant reassurance that there’s someone there should you need assistance getting back into bed safely or with administering medication.
Taking a break from work is needed for everyone, and the same goes for those who are full time carers for their loved ones. Whilst you take a step back, we can step in and provide respite care for your loved one so neither of you have to worry about care whilst you are gone. We’ll stick to the same routines that they’re used to and keep everything the way you both like it, enabling you to return without worrying that things have changed. And if you both want to take a holiday together, we can accompany you too, allowing you both to enjoy a well-earned break together.
Whether you’ve just been discharged from hospital and need support swiftly in place for when you get home or if you’ve become unwell and need extra help at home, emergency care can be arranged at the drop of a hat by our Stoke team. We’ll be with you as soon as possible (usually within 24 hours), so you don’t have to worry about caring for yourself during a stressful or difficult time, allowing you to get back to your normal self at a pace that suits you.
Jennifer and the team work really hard to care for their customers in Stoke-on-Trent to a high level, always going above and beyond to make sure they’re comfortable and content in their own surroundings. Their drive to go the extra mile is something that we look for when recruiting our carers; a quality that cannot be taught and is something that is naturally part of them. It’s this quality that we believe puts our carers head and shoulders above the rest.
Once selected, our carers are carefully trained so they have the right skills when out in the field. Our award-winning training covers first aid, safeguarding, dementia, medication, manual handling and personal care – with regular refresher courses held for all of your teams too.
To arrange care for yourself or a loved one, call our customer care specialists who are available seven days a week. They’ll get to know your care needs and set up a home visit with Jennifer and the team, so that they can begin your support plan and find out exactly what you would like from your care.
