Branch Care Manager
As the manager of a busy branch of Helping Hands, it is my responsibilty to ensure and maintain a safe service to our customers. I am guided by legislation and law to provide a service which is person-centered, safe, professional and offers continuity of care to customers. I have been working in care for the past 27 years; I was inspired to do this as I was a young carer for my mother and I wanted to give something back to others in a way I know makes a difference. I am a lady with strong values and offer kindness and understanding towards others. Kindness is at the foundation of our service - I enjoy being able to go out and about seeing the customers and working alongside the team to ensure a personal touch is maintained. I am pasionate around supporting others, especially in at a time when it is most required. In my spare time I enjoy going for walks in the countryside and enjoying the great outdoors.

Home care in Weston-super-Mare
-
For over 30 years, we’ve been providing expert home care to individuals across England and Wales, enabling them to stay in the place where they know and love; their home. From as little as 30-minute visits to help you to change the bed sheets, all the way up to regular visits throughout the day to help you with continence care, we’ll put a package of homecare in place that suits your routine and requirements.
With experience in supporting a variety of different conditions including Alzheimer’s, acquired brain injuries and cerebral palsy amongst any others – the team at Weston-super-Mare will get to know how your symptoms effect you and work alongside you to find the best solution. And if your needs or symptoms change, we can easily adapt the type of care you receive and how often we visit.
Taking care of the whole individual rather than just taking care of their practical needs is extremely important too. So, if it’s someone to take you down to the Grand Pier for the afternoon for an ice cream or a friendly face to pop in and have a chat over a cup of tea, companionship is something that we can also offer.

Better than a care agency in Weston-Super-Mare
-
Choosing care at home from Helping Hands means that you don’t just get amazing support from our dedicated carers in Weston-Super-Mare, you also get a fully managed service that goes over and above anything you’d receive from a traditional care agency. We can be so confident about that because we’ve never been a care agency; since we were founded in 1989 we’ve been a private homecare company, whose passion is delivering the highest standards of care to you at home. We’re different from an agency because of how we treat our carers too. All of them are employed directly by us, meaning we handle all of the legalities and regulations, unlike if you were ‘matched’ with your carer by an agency. They would take a fee from you just to introduce you to a suitable carer, then leave you to manage, pay and oversee the carer yourself. Not what you want to be doing when you should be focussing solely on your care requirements.

One-to-one support with live-in care in Weston-super-Mare
-
Round-the-clock live-in care in Weston-super-Mare is a great option for you if you require more intensive support but don’t want to go into a residential home. Matched with you via your personality, care needs and preferences, your live-in carer will come and live with you in your home and provide you with the one-to-one support you need to enable you to continue living at home in comfort.
All of our live-in carers are supported by our local managers and a team of clinical nurses, so you can rest assured that you have expert assistance every step of your care journey – whether you need help with PEG feeding, catheter or stoma.

Get your independence back with private care
-
Private care allows you to choose when, where and how you receive your care. This type of support can be suitable if you need an extra pair of hands to help with the housework, regular assistance with your personal care or support to get back on your feet after an accident or injury.
Having support with personal care or tasks around the house means that you or your loved one can continue to live comfortably and independently in the place you know and love; your home.

Short-term solutions with respite care
-
It’s important that everyone takes time to rest and relax, but even more so if you’re a permanent carer for a relative or friend. With respite care, you can both be assured that care will be delivered of the highest quality without impacting on your existing routines. With a short break, it gives you both the chance to recharge your batteries, which can be a vital part of your care routine.
Respite care can also be suitable if you want to take a holiday with your family or carer or if your regular carer needs to attend an emergency. Within as little as 24 hours, we can put a package of care in place that allows you to have complete confidence that all of your care needs will be catered for.

Fully-trained carers in Weston-super-Mare
-
Making a real difference to people’s lives is why our carers decide to join the Helping Hands family, and this innate quality of looking after others is what we look for when recruiting carers. In addition to being naturally empathetic people, we also ensure every single carer is trained to the highest level so that they can consistently deliver the best care possible.
All of our carers go through our award-winning training programme either at the Weston branch or at our bespoke training centre in Warwickshire (live-in carers only). Modules such as manual handling, personal care, medication, dementia and first aid are delivered by our expert trainers, as well as all carers having a mandatory Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
We’re also a fully-regulated service that is regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who check that we’re offering safe, effective and responsive care.
