Meet Alecia, our Branch Manager

Alecia White, Branch Manager for Newcastle

Alecia’s experiences have come from working within a supported living complex, providing care and companionship to a range of customers with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

Alecia says, “I then became the care coordinator for the Helping Hands branch in Middlesbrough, where I had so many incredible and inspirational moments.

“Every staff member within Helping Hands plays a very important role in delivering an outstanding service to our customers.”

Regular home visits for families around Whitley Bay

Our visiting care starts from just 30-minutes per week, all the way through to overnight stays and full-time live-in care.

Visiting care is an ideal solution if you know that you need extra help but don’t want to go through the upheaval of moving into nursing or residential care. Our Whitley Bay carers will work around your timetable, whilst covering:

  • Personal care: Helping you wash and dress, while always giving you privacy and space.
  • Administering medication and ensuring you’re safe when swallowing tablets.
  • Providing support with aspects of complex care including stomas and catheters.
  • Preparing food, housekeeping and companionship

Though the practical support inside your home is very important, helping you when you’re out in the community is also a great way to preserve your independence.

Care for short-term breaks

Constantly supporting a loved one can be a lot to take on and incredibly overwhelming. If you’re juggling a full-time job, parenting or other commitments, short-term relief is an ideal option.

Whether it’s delivered over a period of weeks or days, respite care allows you to take some time and recharge your batteries but still be assured your loved one is receiving care which meets their needs.

Respite care is also a great way to see how care in your home can work in the long run. Or you might have to leave your loved one to resolve another family emergency. In most cases, we can arrange care to start swiftly, with as little disruption as possible.

Our trained carers based in Whitley Bay

Alongside our award-winning training programme, our carers go through a full background and DBS check, and because our carers are recruited and employed by us, we can also take care of all paperwork involved.

Like all of our branches, our Whitley Bay office is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), meaning we’re fully committed to always providing a safe and secure service.
