What’s included with care at Helping Hands?

Most people that want to arrange home care are usually doing so for the first time, so it’s not something that everyone is familiar with. With Helping Hands Home Care, we offer fully comprehensive support that is as unique as you are, not only adhering to your medical and health needs, but also your lifestyle, personality and hobbies. We take a very holistic approach to your care, ensuring that your mental health is given just as much importance as your physical health. So, if you love going down to the Molineux on Saturday afternoons but struggle to do so alone, our carers will accompany you to the ground and cheer along the Wolves with you.

Do you need care?

The need for care at home could crop up over a long period of time, for example, if someone is slowly progressing into the early stages of dementia, or it may be a sudden occurrence when a person’s health deteriorates quite quickly and care is urgently required. The Wolverhampton team are prepared for any scenario and will work closely with you to get care set up in a way that’s meaningful to you.

Short term home care support

Care may start as a couple of hours a week to help you with the housework or making your lunch, but you may realise that you’d like support with other tasks too, such as washing your hair, getting dressed and collecting your prescriptions. Visiting care means that your support is flexible around you and your requirements, where we provide support from as little as 30 minutes up to several hours. This also includes the added reassurance of overnight care, where a carer can help you get in and out of bed safely if you’re a light sleeper or provide waking nights support if your regular carer needs to get a full nights’ rest.

Intermittent long term care in the home

Taking a holiday is important for all of us – whether it’s a couple of days by the seaside or a fortnight away in a foreign country. And if you have additional needs or a long-term health condition, we’ll ensure that you still get to enjoy your break just with a little assistance along the way. Our respite care covers you for the entirety of your trip and allows you to enjoy the time away that you deserve, along with any other family members that want to join you too. That way, you can all relax together without having to worry about who will be looking after you.

Immediate start home help carers

We can’t always plan when we need support at home, especially if something happens unexpectedly like a fall or a loved one being taken ill who would normally support you. If you need assistance at short notice, our emergency care service can be swiftly put in place, with care commencing often on the same day as your enquiry to us. And because we have a team of expertly trained carers at our Wolverhampton branch, you have added peace of mind that you’ll be in the very best hands.
