Meet Simon Ball, our Branch Manager

"Hi, I'm Simon, the Branch Manager for Helping Hands in Basingstoke. Here at the Basingstoke branch, we have a fantastic group of carers who are always willing to go the extra mile, and I’m proud that we’re able to support people within the local community to live comfortable and independent lives within their own homes. I’ve worked in the area for a number of years and have some great local connections."

Here at Helping Hands we offer individually tailored, high quality home care, ensuring that the very best standards of support are delivered by our carers to each and every one of our customers.

Simon and his team provide everything from companionship and housekeeping services, through to providing more complex healthcare support for people living with conditions such as dementia, multiple sclerosis, a spinal injury, Parkinson’s, an acquired brain injury or life after a stroke. Having been let down by an unreliable agency it was a great relief to feel sure all visits would be undertaken with compassion and experience. I would thoroughly recommend Helping Hands.

Live-in care in Basingstoke

If you need a more intense level of home care, our carers are fully trained to provide you with the support you require, on your terms. Live-in care means exactly that – a carer will live with you in your home and be there to help you around the clock.

It may be that you need help with household duties and taking medication throughout the day, or it may be that you need someone to accompany you to work if you are living with a progressive condition. We’re here to provide you and your loved ones, with the peace of mind that you are in capable and caring hands.

Domiciliary care to suit you

As a viable alternative to residential care, domiciliary care offers the highest level of care that is suited to your routines and habits. Whether that be going out to the shops every Monday morning or stopping off for a slice of cake at the local café – our care packages are totally bespoke for you.

For many, leaving the comforts of their own home can be unsettling, particularly if you are living with a partner, family member or friend. Yet live-in care can be the solution you are looking for to ensure you’re feeling reassured and relaxed at home.

Specialist dementia care from our expert team

Adjusting to life with dementia can often be difficult for everyone involved, and with more people living with dementia than ever, we understand the upheaval this condition can cause. Yet with the right support and care in place, we believe that no one that has dementia needs to leave their home.

From our Dementia Care Guide and tips to supporting yourself or loved ones with dementia, to understanding exactly what dementia is, our team has the tools to ensure care is of the highest standard, regardless of the type of dementia or the stage of dementia you are living with.

Elderly care that considers you

Elderly care covers all aspects of care that may be needed for those that are more senior and are struggling with everyday tasks, or may have a condition that they have developed later on in life that they need support with.

We also recognise the importance of healthy living both physically and mentally. Even if we can assist you with walking to the Basingstoke library and taking part in a weekly book group, we will be there for you.

Respite care in Basingstoke

From time to time, there may be a need for you or your loved one to have some respite care. In order to keep disruption to a minimum, we can meet with you and your carer to find out what suits you best – whether that’s how much milk you take in your coffee or where your favourite walk is.

There may also be instances where you need respite care at short notice, such as the following:

  • Hospital discharge – if you need care after a spell in hospital to get you back on your feet.
  • Emergencies – for times when your regular carer is unable to be there, perhaps due to a family emergency.
  • One-off occasions – when there are special events that you want to attend that requires some support.

Our Basingstoke care team are able to care for you as soon as you need them, even if that’s at short notice.

Our dedicated team of carers

You can be confident in the expert knowledge of our Basingstoke carers. All fully-trained and professionally equipped for their role, each and every one of our carers receive continuous training to ensure their practice is top notch.

Recognising our commitment to the highest standards of care, Helping Hands has been endorsed as a Centre of Excellence for our rigorous training programme – the first and only home care provider to do so. Our team at Basingstoke fully implement everything they have learnt and give the very best to every customer they interact with.

All Helping Hands carers are DBS checked and trained to help you or your loved one remain independent in their home, whilst giving you the level of live-in care that you require.
