Named Petrockstow when a monastery was founded there in the 6th century by St. Petroc, Bodmin has been the site of various historic events over the years, including three Cornish uprisings that occurred in the 15th and 16th centuries. Bodmin also saw half of its 3000-strong population killed by the Black Death in the mid-14th century, although it had recovered to almost 15,000 by the 2011 census.

"I am the newly appointed Branch Care Manager. I have worked in the healthcare sector since 2008, I knew this was the right career path for me when I was a teenager - I helped to care for my Grandmother who had Dementia and I decided I wanted to make a difference to the lives of individuals and their families. I left the Adult Care sector for a few years and worked with children who had learning difficulties, but I left this job when I moved to Cornwall and decided that care was where I was meant to be.
"I am a happy, confident, enthusiastic person, with a natural ability to get on with people. My friends call me Sunshine!
"I like to spend my weekends exploring the Cornish Coast with my dog Maisie or spending time with my family watching the Pirates play rugby in Penzance."
