What is community care?

Community Care, which is also known as care in the community, is a type of home care that supports you to enjoy the best possible quality of life without having to move to a residential care home, nursing home or hospice. At Helping Hands, we’re convinced that home is always the best place to receive care. Our community care services give our customers the opportunity to receive specialist, life-changing care in the place where they’re at their most confident, content and secure.

Community care supports you to enjoy as normal a life as possible through holistic support that gives you the independence and freedom to set your own routines, enjoy your favourite hobbies and spend more time with the people you love. Community care can involve anything from helping with the housework or preparing your favourite meals, to taking your dog for a walk or accompanying you on holiday.

Care in the Bristol community from Helping Hands

At Helping Hands Bristol, our carers are what sets us apart from any other care provider. We’ve been providing life-changing home care to customers up and down the country for over 30 years, so we know what it takes to be a really great carer. Every Helping Hands carer has been carefully recruited for their compassionate, empathetic personality and their dedication to providing only the very highest standards of care every single day.

All of our carers receive our award-winning training, which covers modules including dementia care, first aid, health and safety and so much more, and we make sure all new staff are subjected to rigorous background checks before they start with us. And, for your added reassurance, we’re completely regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you know your care will always be exceptional.
