As we grow older, we may begin to find more difficulty in the tasks that we had once found quite simple. It may be that you are having trouble with getting out of bed and dressed for the day, or perhaps you are a caregiver for your partner but you can no longer support them like you used to. With elderly care from the Dulwich team, you have the support you need to remain independent at home.
Loneliness becomes more common in our elder years, so even if you would just like a friendly face to pop in for a cup of tea and a chat in the afternoon – we’ll be there for you.
You may be recovering from an illness or injury and don’t feel comfortable at home just yet, or perhaps you would like to take a trip into London for the weekend but you don’t feel safe going alone. Respite care is available for many occasions and can sometimes be needed at very short notice. But worry not, the Dulwich team can swiftly put a personalised respite care package in place to ensure that you have the support you need, for as long as you need it – often within 24 hours of your initial enquiry.
Helping Hands was founded by Mary Lee in 1989 as a way to offer support to families who wanted to remain in the comfort of their own homes. Thirty years later, we’re proud that – with the dedication of our wonderful carers – we are still providing the same person-centred support to families across England and Wales.
Each of our carers are fully trained in moving & handling, health & safety, safeguarding, equality & diversity, medication support and many more, and they each possess the very quality that is pivotal to becoming a great carer: kindness.
We employ all of our carers directly, so you don’t need to worry about any additional paperwork or agency fees. We ensure that each of our carers receive full background checks, such as Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) screenings, as well as regular training refresher courses to ensure that their skills and practice are always at the best that they can be.
Here at Helping Hands, we’re proud to be the only home care provider to be endorsed as a Centre of Excellence by Skills for Care, and we are also fully licensed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
We are actively collecting and monitoring our reviews and feedback for Dulwich to ensure our customers receive the best possible live in and home care service.
