What’s included with care from Helping Hands?

Home care from our Norwich team covers visits from 30 minutes a week all the way up to 24-hour live-in care. Whether you’re in your twenties with cerebral palsy and need assistance to attend appointments or if you’re in your eighties with Parkinson’s and require full-time care – you can always get the support that you need regardless of your health condition, the intensity of your level of care or the duration.

We take a holistic approach to all of our customers’ support plans, so that every element of your wellbeing is catered to. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, and whatever we can do to ensure this is maintained – taking you out for the afternoon, watching the local football derby on the TV or just having a chat over a cup of tea – we will do our utmost to be there for you whenever you need us.

Do you require care

Home care needs arise for different reasons; sometimes it’s when you’ve started to notice that you’re becoming more unsteady on your feet and can’t reach the things that you used to or you may be researching different options for a loved one. On other occasions, care needs can be more abrupt and occur without warning – perhaps after the death of a loved one or after you’ve suddenly been taken unwell. Whatever the reason, we’ll be there for you through thick and thin.

Short term care at home

For calls little and often, visiting care from the Norwich team means that you can get support with a whole host of tasks that require regular assistance, such as administering medication, household duties, preparing meals and shopping. And if you prefer to have someone with you during the night-time, we can arrange for overnight care to be in place and provide you with the reassurance you may need to help you get a restful night’s sleep.

Intermittent long-term care

If you’ve been longing to feel the sun on your face or the sound of the waves lapping at the shore but have been unable to take a holiday because of your care needs, we can provide short-term respite care to allow you to go on holiday accompanied by a friendly, skilled carer. Not only does this mean that you have the right level of support for your health care needs while you’re away, but it enables you to take charge of your independence and enjoy a much-needed break.

Carers for immediate situations

If you or a loved one has just been discharged from hospital after an accident, injury or illness and you need extra support at home while you fully recover, emergency care can be put in place as soon as you return home and support you until you feel like yourself again. Whether you need support with mobility aids, personal care or just doing the housework, we’ll get a carer to you as soon as we can so that you’re not left without the assistance that you need.

Expert carers in Norwich

Carly and her team of carers are dedicated to supporting people in their homes across Norwich and the surrounding areas. And it’s this dedication and willingness to always go above and beyond that sets our carers apart. Regardless of experience, we always look for those that are genuinely passionate about caring for others – everything else can be taught.

To ensure that our carers have the necessary skills and ability to support those in our local community, they complete theoretical and practical award winning training that covers moving and handling, first aid, safeguarding and medication, as well as other modules. We also provide regular refresher training to all care staff, ensuring that they are carrying out the latest and safest care practices.
