I would highly recommend Helping Hands. My mother who is 91 and has Alzheimer’s moved in with us at the beginning of the year. We needed live-in care for the summer whilst we were away. Having never done this before i was a little apprehensive. Helping Hands made the whole process so easy and i felt reassured from the start that my mum would be cared for beautifully.

The initial assessment was done in a sensitive and professional manner with such kindness and care. The admin side of everything in order to set up the care was efficient and people always had time to answer any questions i had. The carer that moved in with my mum was sweet, kind, gentle and professional. Just what i wanted for my mum. Thank you Helping Hands for making our first experience of live-in care so smooth and successful.

Expert carers to support you in Peterborough

Helping Hands was founded by Mary Lee in 1989 to enable those who needed some extra support to remain in the comfort of their own homes. Thirty years later, we are proud to be providing the same level of person-centred care to thousands of families across England and Wales – and our values have never changed.

As a company that is big enough to support your every need yet still small enough to care, our expert carers are here to provide dedicated care that enables you to live independently at home. What’s more, each of our carers complete a comprehensive training course as part of their recruitment process that covers modules such as safeguarding, dementia care and moving and handling, so you can be sure that you’re in expert hands.

We employ each of our carers directly, so you don’t need to worry about any additional paperwork or background checks – we’ll cover it all for you. And as well as being fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we are the only home care provider to be endorsed as a Centre of Excellence by Skills for Care.

Come along and join us at our Christmas fete

Help needed!!
Helping Hands are organising a Christmas fete on 15th December at the Parkway sports and social club in Peterborough. All proceeds raised will be going to 2 local charities, one to raise money for more defibrillators to be distributed across Peterborough and the other a elderly befriender charity that raises money to organise days out/company for lonely elderly/vulnerable people in and around Peterborough 2 charities that are very close to our hearts and which the community benefit from daily.
So how can you help?
We are looking for people and companies to sponsor/donate items for a raffle/tombola/prizes. Presents for the children to be given by our very own Santa!
We are looking for a choir/music group to come and sing some Christmas carols for the afternoon, a face painter for the children and people who can make decorations for the event.
And finally people to hold stalls selling Christmas gifts/crafts/decorations, cakes, a couple of stalls for craft activities for people to take part in on the day.
Our aim is to get our customers, carers, friends, families and locals involved as much as possible but most of all raise some money for 2 really good charities.
if you are interested in getting involved or donating something or even a cash donation then please let me know. Any companies that donate/sponsor will be included in our advertising both prior to and on the day.
So please all help and get involved, lets make some people happy this Christmas!
