Home care in Rhondda
Visiting care and home care in Rhondda
With evidence of man’s presence since at least the Mesolithic period and a hoard of late Bronze Age weapons found in 1912, the Rhondda area has been inhabited for thousands of years. In more recent times, the area has been synonymous with coal mining, and by 1893, there were more than 75 collieries in the Rhondda Valleys. Despite the decline in demand for coal, other industries were able to establish themselves in the area and the history of Rhondda’s industrial past is celebrated in a museum in one of the local former colliery sites.
While our heritage is not as long or colourful as Rhondda’s, at Helping Hands we do have an established history of providing outstanding home care for people in the area, with branches across the country that are all fully regulated by the Care Inspectorate Wales.

Area Care Manager
Hello, I’m Claire, Area Manager in the South West. High quality home care in Rhondda
Our careworkers are very special people and go above and beyond to look after our customers, whether they go in once a week or three times a day. We can support you with every aspect of your daily routine, whether it’s housekeeping tasks, personal care or medication support. We also love to help our customers make the most of the area they live in, whether to attend activities, appointments, or just to have a well-deserved cuppa in a local café.
24/7 live in care support
Live in care is like intermittent care, and then some. By having someone living in your home you still get all the practical support with your everyday routine that you may wish to have, yet you also get companionship as much or as little as you want it. Our careworkers are discreet and supportive people who will understand when you need privacy and time alone but will also ensure you’re never feeling lonely.
Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in Rhondda
We’re not – and have never been – a care agency, we’ve always been a private home care company, focussed on providing the highest quality care and keeping our customers as independent as possible. This is completely in contrast to a care agency, who only arrange for a careworker to come to you, rather than managing the care package, employing the careworkers and delivering their learning. All of this we do as standard without any hidden charges.
Qualified carers providing a variety of care services in Rhondda
We think that our careworkers are the heart of Helping Hands, and we value them highly. One way that we motivate our employees is by offering them all a bespoke package of relevant learning. This ensures that they’re always abreast of industry changes and can apply what they’ve learned to care for their customers every day. Our onboarding programme ensures that we only employ people who are naturally compassionate and who have caring for others at heart.
