Since 1989, we have been providing home care up and down the country to those most in need but who want to remain in the familiar surroundings of their own home. With CQC-regulated care that monitors how we train our carers to the safety of all of our services, you can rest assured that you’re in caring hands with our Walsall team.
Nestled between cities Birmingham and Wolverhampton, Walsall is at the heart of the Black Country, with a rich, industrial history to boot. Still nicknamed as The Leather Capital of Britain and overlooked by the beautiful 11th century motte and bailey castle in Dudley, this friendly area of the West Midlands really does have some wonderful things to offer – including a team of experienced Helping Hands carers.
We offer visiting care from as little as 30-minute calls to assist with keeping on top of the housework and preparing your lunch, all the way up to full-time live-in care for more complex care needs or those who have a long-term health condition that requires round-the-clock support. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to our care service in Walsall, which is why we take the time to meet with you before your care commences and create an individualised support plan crafted entirely around you.
"Hi, I’m Jennifer, area manager for Helping Hands’ Central region. I believe it’s often the little things in life, like a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, which all have the potential to turn a life around. Almost anyone can become a carer but it takes a whole lot more to actually care. It’s my responsibility to meet with customers to gain feedback on a regular basis and ensure that they are happy with our service, to meet potential new customers face-to-face and to manage a wonderful team of visiting carers, supporting them with supervisions and appraisals."
For over 30 years, we've been supporting people with care, nurse-supported care and companionship across England and Wales. As industry-leaders in home care, we know what it takes to provide the right level of care so that you can retain your independence in the comfort of your beloved home.

If you’re new to care, the Walsall team are here to reassure you and your loved ones of any worries or questions you may have about what we offer and how home care is delivered. Built entirely around you, packages of care can be put in place as soon as you need, and we’ll be there with you every step of the way.
The skilled and empathetic carers from the Walsall team will be there whenever you need them – whether it’s to pop in for a cup of team and keep you company, or if you need regular support to apply creams and lotions as part of your medication routine. They’ll even take you for a day out at Dudley Zoo & Castle to spot the majestic giraffes and graceful flamingos if you so wish!
We only offer person-centred care and have done since we began in 1989. Offering care that promotes independence and freedom of choice has meant that we have kept thousands of individuals in their own homes over the last 30 years, regardless of their diagnosis. And that’s exactly what we plan on doing for the next 30 years and beyond.
If you need more intensive support due to complex needs or a progressive illness but don’t want to move into a nursing home, live-in care from Helping Hands could be the perfect solution for you. Designed to fit around your existing routines and schedules, a live-in carer will come and live with you in your house to assist you whenever you need.
Even if you’re living as a couple or with a beloved pet, a live-in carer will fit seamlessly into your life and will be able to enrich your everyday experiences, rather than just being a carer. They can accompany you on a day trip to the Black Country Museum, ensure you enjoy quality time together and even take your canine companion out for his daily walk!
All of our live-in carers, including the carers across Walsall, are fully supported by a dedicated team of clinical nurses, who are experts in more advanced and specific medical care. This enables even more people to be cared for in their own home – from those needing support with a tracheostomy, catheter or stoma to assistance with PEG feeding, the after effects of a stroke or a neurological condition.
With over 30 years of experience in the home care industry, we know what it takes to deliver the very best domiciliary care to suit our customers. From Parkinson’s, dementia and arthritis to cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis and myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) – we’re experienced in supporting young and older adults who live with a number of different conditions to ensure that they’re safe and comfortable in their own home.
From 30-minute calls per week up to several daily visits, domiciliary care from the Walsall team takes the stress out of struggling and provides you with support that you need to live your life.
As dementia care experts in the home care industry, we have the knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure that you receive the very best dementia care that suits you entirely. From learning more about the particular type of dementia you have, to how to adapt your life around your symptoms – we can help with all of the little things that make a big difference.
We’ll work with you and your family to find the best solutions for you, yet ensure that you’re in control every step of the way. So, if you have Alzheimer’s and still want to attend your local lawn bowls club every week with your friends, we’ll accompany you there and back – you could even show your carer how to roll the perfect ball!
Getting older doesn’t mean you should lose your independence, become sedentary, or give up your home. The Walsall team will ensure that none of those things need to occur, regardless of your circumstances or any medical needs you may have.
Elderly care from the Walsall team can support you with a whole host of different things that can mean that you get to enjoy your home again. Some of the things they offer support with are:
We understand how quickly care needs can arise or change, depending on your situation. Your regular caregiver may have to suddenly attend to a family emergency, or you may have visiting carers but need extra support after becoming unwell. That’s where respite care from the Walsall team can help.
Guided by you, we’ll put care swiftly into place to ensure you get the very best care with all of your requirements taken care of. And because we only select the very best carers to work for us, you can rest assured that you’ll be in fantastic hands, even if it is at short notice.
Respite care can also be ideal if you wish to take a holiday but are worried about going alone or want to go with your regular caregiver whilst they too enjoy the sun. The Walsall team will step in and accompany either you or you and your family, so that you can all enjoy the break that you deserve without being anxious that your care needs won’t be met.
We’re extremely proud of our Centre of Excellence in Warwickshire – a bespoke training centre where all of our live-in carers are trained. The exemplary training that is delivered here is also mirrored in our branches, where all of our visiting carers are trained by our in-house experts. Being able to train every single one of our carers ourselves means that we have absolute control of the quality of training we deliver, as well as ensuring that all of our carers are equipped to support you in your home.
From modules such as manual handling, first aid, medication and many more, our carers are trained in all aspects of care. They are also put through a stringent recruitment process that includes a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) screening and several character references, taking the fuss and hassle out of any additional paperwork for you.
As well as being recognised by Skills for Care for our training programme, we are part of the Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) and Spinal Injuries Association (SIA), of which both organisations work on better lives for those living with dementia and spinal injuries respectively.
All of our branches across England and Wales are registered and inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who make sure that the care and services we are providing are safe, responsive and effective.
We are actively collecting and monitoring our reviews and feedback for Walsall to ensure our customers receive the best possible live in and home care service.
