I’m amazed, David (my husband) has not been so settled in well over three years and it’s all down to the continuity of care that Helping Hands have provided for us.

Elderly care to support your independence

As we get older, we understand that although our day-to-day tasks may seem more difficult than they used to, the desire to maintain independence and security doesn’t always change.

Whether you need regular reminders for medication, a helping hand with meal preparation or a little help in getting out and about, Marietjie and her team are on hand to give you the support that you need, when you need it.

Respite care for your short-term needs

When your regular carer needs a break or if you need intensive, short-term support after an illness or injury, our respite care packages offer you the comfort and support that you need, for however long you need it. We’ll ensure a seamless transition between carers, providing you with the quality care that you expect from your own carer and adhering to your own routine, keeping disruption to a minimum.

We understand that emergencies can be unavoidable, but it doesn’t mean that you should sacrifice the personal level of care that you’re used to. We can arrange care cover in a short period of time, covering any of the following instances:

  • Hospital discharge – if you need short-term care after time in hospital to rebuild your independence
  • Emergencies – when your regular carer needs to tend to an emergency
  • Short breaks – giving your carer some time to rest and recuperate without any detriment to your ongoing care
  • One-off occasions – when you want to join your family to enjoy a special event, such as a wedding or birthday celebration
