Meet Marietjie Jones, our Branch Manager
"Hello! I’m Marietjie, the manager at Helping Hands' Birmingham branch. My role is to make sure we get the right fit of carer, deliver continuity and quality care and complete a bespoke care plan. We can pop in from half an hour to help you start each day, or take a customer out for the whole day. Our aim is to be flexible with people’s needs as they can change on a daily basis. Our carer training is impeccable, with ongoing training and support from myself and our team of clinical nurses."
Visiting home care in Birmingham
Here at Helping Hands we offer individually tailored high quality home care in Birmingham, Selly Oak, Quinton, Oldbury and the surrounding areas. Still family owned and run, we draw on over 29 years of experience, to ensure that the very best standards of support are delivered by our carers to each and every one of our customers.
Marietjie and her team provide everything from companionship, housekeeping, through to providing more complex healthcare support for people with conditions such as MS, Spinal Injuries, Parkinson’s, Acquired Brain Injuries and those that have suffered a Stroke. Every member of the Helping Hands team is here to ensure we enable our customers to enjoy the quality of life they deserve in the comfort of their own home, irrespective of their personal or medical needs.
The team of dedicated carers across Birmingham and the surrounding areas are chosen and trained at the branch, supported by expert guidance from a team of registered nurses and myself. We draw on our extensive knowledge of the area, having first launched Helping Hands in Warwickshire in 1989.
If you’re receiving direct payments for social care through social services, we are able to accept top-ups to these payments. Get in touch to find out more.
I’m amazed, David (my husband) has not been so settled in well over three years and it’s all down to the continuity of care that Helping Hands have provided for us.

Our Birmingham carers are committed to providing you or your loved one with the very best possible care. To ensure that they can deliver your care to the highest standard, we are committed to providing them with a comprehensive programme of training and support.
Before beginning their work with us, all our carers take part in an intensive training programme at our Centre of Excellence. But the training does not stop there. Every Helping Hands carer takes part in on-going training to boost their knowledge and experience across a wide range of areas, from dementia care to complex care requirements.
Our carers are also committed to ensuring that you receive the best condition-led care available, and work with local GPs to understand how best to support you.
I enjoy the variety each day that care work brings. Each customer is different and I enjoy getting to know them. It’s also a lovely feeling, knowing that people appreciate what you do.
