Visiting care and home care in Norwich

Norwich is a compact city that is perfect for all of your needs. With heritage sites to explore, high street and independent shops to browse, and an array of events to visit – you’ll never fail to be amazed by its hidden gems and its culture. For those in need for extra support at home, Norwich also houses its very own local branch of Helping Hands carers.

Supporting people from the age of 18 all the way up to 100 and beyond, we’ll get to know you, your routines and your care needs to ensure you get everything you require from your care. For minor afflictions and a little assistance in keeping up with your schedule, we can provide a friendly visiting carer to offer all the help you need. For those with complex or deteriorating circumstances, we can supply you with specialist care around-the-clock from a live-in carer dedicated to ameliorating your quality of life.

FAQs

Choosing the right care for you or a loved one can be a daunting task, but the Norwich team are here to listen to any of your worries and provide you with complete peace of mind that you’re in the best hands. We’ve been providing care to thousands of families for the past 30 years, so we know what it takes to deliver high quality care to anyone in need.

From a 30-minute call once a week all the way up to several daily calls, we’ll make sure you get the right amount of home care delivered in the way that you want it. So, if you need an extra pair of hands to help you with your shopping or require regular support with your personal care throughout the day, we’ll be there every step of the way.

Experienced in supporting those with cerebral palsy, dementia, motor neurone disease, cancer, mental health conditions and many more, we can ensure your safety, care needs and most of all, your independence, will all be taken care of by the team in Norwich.

If you require more intensive or regular support, live-in care in Norwich may be a more suitable option for you. Chosen by you, a live-in carer will come to live with you in your home to make sure you have everything you need, so you can rest assured that you’re being taken care of fully.

Emotional wellbeing is just as important as being physically healthy, and that’s exactly what our live-in carers aim to achieve when supporting you. They’re there not just to support you with the practicalities, but to be a source of companionship too.

We’re a better option than a care agency because we implement measures to ensure our care staff are properly looked after. We believe it’s really important that our carers are allowed to focus on providing our customers with exceptional care, rather than stressing about sorting admin and chasing payments.

Unlike most care agencies, our carers are directly employed by us. This provides much sought-after job security and also means our customers won’t be snowed under with bothersome paperwork. Agencies, on the other hand, will generally require you to pay your carers yourself, a process that requires lots of fiddly, time-consuming admin.

Private care ensures that you receive the highest standards of service delivery at all times, while being able to remain in the home you love. You’re always in control of the care you receive with Helping Hands, as we work with you or your loved ones to devise a wholly bespoke support plan for you that ensures your wants, needs and preferences are respected at all times, and your favourite routines are always carried out to your exact specification. Whether you choose visiting or live-in care, you can be sure that you will be supported by a dedicated, professional and compassionate private carer who will go above and beyond to ensure you are properly cared for, every single day.

Also known as visiting care, domiciliary care is a great way to ensure you’re supported but without having to give up your independence. We’ll come to you and make sure you receive the very best care without the need of having to up sticks and move into residential care.

With the support of our clinical nurse team, we can also assist with more complex conditions such as PEG feeding, stoma, and catheter management. Being flexible in what we can offer means that you’ll never be left without an option, providing peace of mind for both you and your family.

As part of the Dementia Alliance, we’re committed to ensuring that anyone that is living with dementia can stay in their own homes with the right care for their specific symptoms. Having dementia shouldn’t mean that the person is ‘forgotten about’, and as dementia specialists we’re determined to make sure that this happens to no one with the condition.

We understand how difficult it can be for everyone involved when a dementia diagnosis is given and we’re here to alleviate any worries and concerns for all of you. Whether you’re living in the early or latter stages of any one of the many different types of dementia, we’ll work with all of you to ensure the very best package of care is put in place.

Getting older doesn’t mean you should lose your freedom or feel like you can no longer live how you want to. With elderly care from the Norwich team, we’ll find out what really makes you tick and put everything in place to enable you to live as independently as possible.

Loneliness is something that is often talked about, but something that greatly affects the over 65s. We believe that this is something that should be discussed more openly, and if you’re feeling lonely after a loved one has passed away or you feel cut off from your social circle due to mobility issues, we want to help. Home care isn’t just to help with physical requirements; if it’s just a friendly face that you see once a day and occasionally pop to the local shops with, then that’s something that the team can definitely help with.

Has your regular caregiver had to tend to a family emergency? Have you just been discharged from hospital after an accident and need extra support at home? Worry not – the team are on hand to step in and deliver quality care when and where you need it.

Caring for someone is a wonderful job, but it can often be draining if you do it full-time for a loved one; even more so if you’re juggling work and family commitments too. That’s where respite care comes in. Even if it’s just for a few days, we can usually get care in place within as little as 24 hours’ notice. We’ll work with both of you to ensure everything is taken care of – including how you take your tea and what time you like to get up in the morning.

Our carers are chosen primarily for their passion, kindness and helpfulness – something that can’t be taught, but is just naturally within. This is why, 30 years after our inception, we’re leaders in the home care industry – because of our amazing carers.

We also ensure that every single one of our carers go through full background checks, including the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS), accompanied by several character references. As well as our rigorous recruitment process, each carer is trained in manual handling, dementia care, first aid, safeguarding and health & safety, with regular refresher courses insisted upon.

Not only are we one of the founding members of the Homecare Association (HCA), we are also fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who ensure all of our teams are delivering safe, effective and responsive care to our customers.
