Live-in care and visiting home care in Sussex

Our flexible live-in care services are available across Sussex, including Brighton and Hove, Crawley, Worthing, Eastbourne, Hastings, Horsham, Bexhill, Shoreham-by-Sea, Lewes, Chichester, Bognor Regis, Crowborough and the surrounding areas. We enable people nationwide to receive the finest high-end care, to live comfortably and independently within their own homes, surrounded by friends, family pets and personal belongings, avoiding a move into a residential care home.

Whether you need full-time live-in care, short-term respite, convalescence, planning for your long-term care, or you simply require a single call per day, we will be able to work around your needs. Carers can live with your loved one in their own home, or visit as frequently as you need, from 30 minutes through to longer “sit-in” sessions that may take most of the day or even help during the night.

Helping Hands has been providing exceptional home care since 1989 and is still proudly family led. We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are committed to providing an unparalleled care service, ensuring we meet the highest possible standards of quality home care. Helping Hands live-in care packages are tailored personally to your care needs. We work with doctors, nurses, and both private & NHS hospitals such as Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, The Priory Ticehurst Hospital to deliver home care that meets your exact requirements.

We carefully match you with a fully-trained private carer who will live with you in your home, supporting you with your day-to-day needs and even being on call overnight. Whether it’s helping with personal care, going to the toilet, help taking medication, housekeeping or moving round the house, many of our carers become a lifeline to our customers, enabling them to live the way they want every day.

If you have an acquired or progressive medical condition or have been recently injured and need support around the home, one of our nurse-led carers can give you the extra support you need. If your medical condition requires that you take medication in the middle of the night, one of our carers can be there to remind you to take it and help to administer it.

Most importantly, we carefully manage the entire process for you, from start to finish so you don’t have to!

Meet Jacqui, our Live-in Area Care Manager

"Hello! I’m Jacqui and my role as a live-in area care manager is to provide leadership and support to the six live-in care managers in the South East. Together we are all responsible for the wellbeing and needs of the customers and carers who we oversee.

"I am a positive, proactive and hugely caring person who wants to create the best environment in which our customers and carers can thrive. The belief and the values that myself and my team embody should add value and allow us to support a person-centred approach across our live-in network. Our customers and carers should be at the heart of everything we do!"

Dad was desperate to stay at home but with his dementia progressing, he could not be left alone. His live-in carer is marvellous. I don’t know what we would do without her.

Friendly, expertly-trained, qualified carers in the Sussex

The idea of welcoming a new person into your home and life may seem a little daunting and unsettling at first. With a handpicked live-in carer, matched perfectly to you, your life can stay much the same as before. We walk you through each step of the way and place up most importance on matching you with someone you feel the most comfortable with and who understands your routines, likes and interests.

Before beginning their work with us, all our carers take part in an intensive training programme at our Centre of Excellence where they develop a wide knowledge of personal care through to complex condition-led care. But the training does not stop there. Every Helping Hands carer takes part in ongoing training to boost their knowledge and experience across a wide range of areas, from dementia care to complex care requirements. All Helping Hands carers are DBS checked and trained to help you or your loved one remain independent in their home, whilst giving you the level of live-in care that you require.
