Many people care for someone in some capacity. This may be as little as helping an elderly loved one with their weekly grocery shopping to providing around-the-clock care. Every caregiver knows that caring for someone is rewarding, but it can also be hugely demanding at times. Providing continuous care can take a massive toll on your physical and mental health and can leave you feeling stressed and burnt out. This is why it’s important to take a break from your caregiving duties from time to time.

Our professional respite carers can step in and support your loved one so you can enjoy a well-deserved break. Respite care can be arranged from as little as a few hours to several weeks, but it’s dependent on the kind of care arranged. You may organise a carer for day-day activities, or a holiday for the person in care. The level of care will be tailored to your loved one’s needs and preferences.

Bespoke to your needs

We understand that every situation is different, which is why we will use our skills and expertise to provide care as unique as you are. Our respite home care packages are fully customisable and can be tailored to your loved one. This means we can arrange a brief 30-minute visits  throughout the week so you can get out of the house and run errands. Alternatively, we can arrange for a dedicated carer to provide live-in care for several weeks or more if you are taking a longer break and your loved one requires full-time support. This means you can choose the exact level of support your loved one requires and create a unique home care plan that will ensure the best level of care.

Respite care

For caregivers

It is a sad truth that many caregivers focus all of their time and energy on the person they are caring for, and in turn, neglect their own health and wellbeing. As a caregiver, you become an essential part of your loved one’s life. However, you must remember to take some time for yourself by having regular breaks from caregiving.

Our professional respite care services will allow you to book a holiday, socialise with other family members and friends or enjoy hobbies while knowing that your loved one is receiving the support they need. You can then return to your loved one feeling refreshed and ready to deal with the challenges of caregiving. Having a temporary carer will also allow you to experience the fantastic home care options local to you. You can have peace of mind knowing that there is someone available to take your place and support your loved one if you are ever unavailable.

For those with care needs

We understand that trusting someone new with your care needs can be difficult. This is why we will take the time to get to know you and match you with a carer that suits your needs, interests and preferences. Our carers will adapt their approach to fit in with your daily patterns and routines and help you maintain your freedom and independence. All of our carers show compassion and are dedicated to helping people live the lives they want, regardless of any health conditions they face.

Enjoy holidays and celebrations

Respite care isn’t just for those looking for a bit of time away from their caregiving duties. It can also serve as a means of getting away on holiday or attending a family celebration such as a wedding or milestone birthday party. If you need constant support with your healthcare needs and you’re worried about who will take care of you whilst everyone is enjoying themselves, we can arrange for a carer to accompany you to your chosen holiday destination or travel with you to your celebration and provide the care that you need for the duration of your stay, taking any stresses or worries away from you and your loved ones. That way, you can all relax and enjoy yourselves together as a family.

Get in touch to discuss

As a family-led company, we understand that caregivers often feel nervous about leaving their loved ones in the care of someone else. However, you can’t do everything yourself and it is natural to need a break from caregiving. If you would like to discuss how our respite services could help, then call our specialist team. Our lines are open seven days a week and one of our friendly customer advisors would be happy to answer your questions. You can also visit your local branch to meet the team and have an informal chat about our home care services.
