Warwickshire home care customer Andrew receives funding for a social visit each week, but is unfortunately unable to receive support towards transport. Andrew is dependent on a large motorised wheelchair, which means that the cost for him to visit his local town centre for the day costs around £50, and he is unable to access community transport due to living in a rural area.
So, when his lead carer Simon was in the process of looking for a new personal car, he found a car that was wheelchair accessible, so that he could take Andrew out on day trips to make the most of his social visits.
Andrew was elated and couldn’t wait for his first trip out! His first visit request? McDonald’s drive-through of course!
Thank you, Simon, for your wonderful moment of kindness.
