With some of the most beautiful 18th century buildings in the country to visit, it’s no wonder that Bexley is one of London’s hidden historical gems. With the likes of the beautiful Danson House, the elegant Hall Palace & Gardens and the fashionable arts & crafts building co-designed by the famous William Morris, you’re sure to find somewhere to while away the afternoons in this London Borough. There is even a local team of Helping Hands carers who can enable you to visit these wonderful places and to retain your independence at home.

Fully flexible care packages as your needs change
Flexible care provided in your own home with a fully qualified carer. Visits start from as little as 30 minutes up to several hourly or overnight calls throughout the week.
One-to-one support from a fully qualified care that lives with you. Full-time support so you can stay at home where you feel most comfortable.
For over 30 years, we have been supporting thousands of people to stay within the comfort of their own homes whilst receiving the highest quality care from our fantastic carers. And as the industry leaders in home care, we really do know what it takes to provide exceptional care.
Visiting care covers a whole host of different elements of care:
What’s great about visiting care is that it’s tailored entirely around you and your preferences. So, if you require daily assistance with making meals but would like to add an extra visit the following week so that you can be accompanied to the shops, we’ll be completely flexible around you.
As a direct alternative to a nursing home, live-in care offers peace of mind and reassurance for you and your loved ones that you are receiving one-to-one support that you require, whilst remaining in the familiar surroundings of your own home. If you are living with a partner or beloved pet, live-in care enables you to stay together so that your routines are left unaltered, just with extra support from a dedicated live-in carer.
Living with you in your home, a live-in carer will be able to support you in all elements of daily living, but also enable you to keep your independence and do the things that you want to do. So, if you need assistance with transferring from a mobility aid to your bed or chair but prefer to tend to your own personal care, we’ll only be involved where you want us to be.
Living with dementia can be quite an unsettling and difficult time for both you and your loved ones. As dementia specialists, we understand how to support those with the condition and how to adapt to their changing needs, particularly during those more ‘lucid’ moments.
Whether your loved one has vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies or Alzheimer’s, we’ll put the right support in place to enable them to still live as independently as they can and maintain routines that keep them feeling safe and relaxed.
If your loved ones require extra support with preparing meals, getting their weekly shop or just general companionship, elderly care from the Bexley team could be the solution to both of your worries. Not only will a member of the team pop in to check on them, but they can also take them out and about in the local community for some fresh air and adventure.
And if their care needs change at any point or if they become more unsteady on their feet, we can increase their visits or even begin live-in care for extra peace of mind.
If you’ve recently had a stay in hospital following an injury or illness and are worried about being discharged without extra support at home, respite care could be the perfect solution for you. We’ll be there as soon as you get home and even help with the travel arrangements if necessary. And once you’re back on your feet, we can still pop in to check that everything’s okay and you have everything you need.
Additionally, you may also receive care from a loved one but recognise that your caregiver needs to take a break from time to time. The Bexley team can step in at short notice and provide the same high level of care you expect from your regular caregiver, enabling them to recharge their batteries and giving you a change of scenery.
From the beginning of our recruitment process, we ensure that we select only the most empathetic and caring individuals to become Helping Hands carers. And because we provide in depth training to all of our carers, we can guarantee a high level of care to all of our customers.
Our award-winning training covers manual handling, personal care, health and safety, dementia, diversity and equality, medication and finances, and is delivered by our in-house training team. Furthermore, all of our branch managers and carers undergo regular refresher training and are fully supported by us to train in areas of expertise such as dementia or palliative care.
As with any professional care provider, we are closely monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who put strict guidelines in place to ensure we are providing a safe, effective and proactive service to both our customers and staff. As well this, we work closely with the Dementia Action Alliance to ensure that we are providing the latest and safest dementia practices across our entire service.
Our Bexley branch is fully regulated and accredited by the CQC and CIW.
