How much does Personal Care Cost?

One of the care services we provide is personal care, which gives you the opportunity to receive one-to-one support for things that might be of a more sensitive nature. This may include personal tasks and routines that you’re struggling with that are essential for your day-to-day well-being, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, applying creams and lotions, continence management, taking medication, and more.

Personal care from Helping Hands is priced at the same rate as our regular visiting care. When you choose us for personal care, our care experts will provide you with a fully personalised care plan that gives you exactly the type and level of care that you need. Your local care team will be able to provide you with a more specific quote once they’ve had the opportunity to meet you, but here’s a guide to how much our convalescent care costs:
- Prices for one-to-one personal home care start from £25.27 per hour
- Prices are flexible across 30, 45 and 60-minute slots
- Our pricing structure will vary slightly depending on your specific care needs and your location, and overnight, weekend and bank holiday care will also be priced differently
- To ensure our carers are properly compensated, each visit carries a call-out fee of £4.25
- For care lasting more than one month, your local care specialist will provide a free home visit to assess your needs, and you’ll receive ongoing support from a dedicated contact to ensure you’re happy with our service
Our live-in care rates vary depending on the level of care required, but costs start from:
- £1,779 per week for a single person
- £1,779 per week for a couple
Paying for Personal Care
Helping Hands are a private care provider, rather than a care agency, and we always will be. This means that we directly employ all our carers, rather than expecting our customers to handle weekly or monthly payments – just one of the many steps we take to make sure your care journey is as straightforward and stress-free as possible. We’re also completely up-front about how much our care will cost – we’ll never ask you to pay any unexpected fees or surprise you with hidden costs.
Possible Funding Options
The vast majority of our customers pay for their care privately, but we do also accept direct payments if you’re eligible for funding.
