Cost of Alzheimer’s Care
A fully managed Alzheimer’s care service
Our Alzheimer’s home care offers you or your loved one full support and peace of mind.
When you’re living with Alzheimer’s and you decide you need some level of care, the last thing you or your loved ones want is for the process to be complicated or time consuming. You need to know that when searching for a home care provider you are going to be supported by dementia specialist carers, managers and support staff who understand how your illness is likely to progress.
Our carers will create and follow a personalised support plan to ensure that your needs and wishes are met and your routines are respected, offering reassurance for both you and your loved ones.
Our carers can help around the home with:
Personal care
As part of your care plan, your carer can provide discreet, dignified personal care – assisting with bathing, dressing and toileting
Preparing meals
Staying at home for care means you can ask your carer to prepare your favourite meals and snacks at the times that you’re used to
Assisting with housework
Our carers can help out with cleaning, vacuuming, tidying, doing the laundry, ironing, and just about everything else
Mobility support
All of our carers receive expert mobility training so that they can provide safe, secure mobility assistance around the home
Looking after pets
With help from your carer, there’s no need to worry about your furry friend continuing to get the food and exercise they need
Friendly companionship
All of our carers have been recruited for their approachable personalities and make for great companions as well as helpers
How much does Alzheimer’s care cost?
We offer two types of Alzheimer’s care at home: visiting care or live-in care, each having their own pricing structure. Your care plan and quote will be personalised to your specific needs.
Whether you decide to have care on a visiting care or live-in care basis, you will be supported by compassionate carers who are experienced in supporting people living with dementia. All of our carers undertake rigorous training when they begin working for us to ensure that they are best placed to help our customers live life to the fullest in their own home.
Visiting care means that you’ll have regular, prearranged visits from a carer who will then undertake all your care needs, before moving on to their next customer.
Prices start from £29.00 per hour
Visits lasting 30, 45 or 60 minutes
£4.25 call-out fee per visit
Live-in care means you’ll have a carer living in your home, giving you and your loved ones the reassurance of high quality, round-the-clock company and support for you
Starting from £1,650 per week for a single person
£1,650 per week for a couple
£275 per day for live-in respite care
How to pay for Alzheimer’s care
Whilst the majority of our customers pay for their care privately, we are able to accept direct payments, so if you’re receiving funding through social services and have opted for direct payments, we’re able to accept top-ups. This means that we can support you whatever your circumstances and help you to live your best life possible in the place you love most.
It’s important to note that we are also not a care agency; we directly employ all of our carers, leading to a more motivated workforce who can therefore concentrate on caring for our customers, instead of worrying about completing tax returns or other paperwork. You pay us and we pay our carers; simple!
Why choose Helping Hands?
Partner with the UK’s most widely trusted home care provider.
Helping Hands have been supporting people living with types of dementia to remain safely and comfortably in their own home since 1989, so you can be confident when we say we’ll always keep you at the centre of your care journey. Alzheimer’s is just one of over 100 different types of dementia, and while each can manifest with varying symptoms, the one you may notice first is a decline in memory. This can be very upsetting for both the person and their loved ones, but our empathetic carers will know how best to support you, both physically and emotionally.
Our customers love that we are:
Upfront and transparent
We are always upfront with our costs, meaning you know what your bill will contain, without any unpleasant surprises
Not a care agency
We’re a private care provider rather than an agency, which means we employ, pay and look after all of our carers
Able to accept direct payments
If you’re receiving funding through social services and have opted for direct payments, we can accept top-ups to these payments
